Currently I check "in-progress" for DR just in case someones healer had to leave, I've run the dungeons before and don't mind skipping parts. However, I don't want to lose my one bonus for the day or have it diminished. If joining part way in to help some other group out were to cause me to lose out on the tomes I'm trying to get I would not be checking that box.

If your talking about the DR bonus, it really should only apply for full instants runs. Other wise se should kick off an "assist" reward for jumping in on a half finished run. Base it off of percentage of completion. Because do you honestly think its right to hop in half way threw a run and get full rewards? Having other folks sifting threw the mobs then pop in and get the reward for the entire run.

If I misunderstood anything I apologize.

that sounds way too complicated for them, they could generally just spread myths out more, like 10 10 10 20 for CT. 3/4 In Progress Pharos on High Level DR gives you 90 myth for like a 5 minute fight, that's nuts.

don't know why SE puts all the myths on the last boss only.

2 separate queues is the only reasonable change.

Guys your complaints are valid but you ate looking at the issue the wrong way.
You seem to want to punish these players rather then finding a solution that works for everyone.

I say add a button on the DF that reads "join only groups in progress". That way those people who want to queue for that are free to do so.

People queueing up normally won't notice them until someone disconnects in their party. Then this person who queued up progress will join your group and you will be happy you didn't have to wait, he will be happy he joined in progress, everybody happy!

Not only would this most likely increase queue times for EVERYONE, it also rewards this whole "something for nothing," attitude that the fishers have. The only solution I see is that those who click the I Am Willing to Help box don't get a screen displaying what they are actually getting. Queues will be shortened, spamming will stop, SE continues trying to break players of their selfishness, and selfish players aren't rewarded for it. No one is owed a near complete dungeon run on a silver platter, especially these tanks that a fishing so hard for it.

As it's been mentioned, the solution should never be to punish players who want an in-progress party. There should be a separate queue. This is the better solution.

Players can have a multitude of reasons for exclusively joining in-progress, including desiring CT loot near the end of that dungeon. Again, the more appropriate solution in this instance is to delay all loot until the very end; Acheron should reward 4 pieces, instead of having each mini-boss reward 1. Most of the reason why people leave early is because they received their weekly loot allotment. Allowing players to join in-progress benefits all sides involved. Some people want the mythology tomes at the end. Regardless of their reasoning, everyone should have the freedom to join a party with the progress they desire.

As it is though, in lieu of an immediate fix, having to sit through withdrawn queues is the price that less-desired jobs will simply have to pay. If you want to be able to pick and choose among duty results, then you should play as a tank.

People need to complain less about the frustrations of long queues and supposed "abuse" of withdrawals, and start playing as tanks (and healers, to a lesser extent). The players who are being subjected to fishers are part of the problem. Start playing a more desired role, and there will be many less queues for fishers to choose from and therefore no one would fish in the first place. It's pretty selfish to expect to play a less-desired role and for the game to work around your collective selfishness in wanting to be DPS.

As it is though, it's legitimate to be frustrated by queue fishing. Again, punishing the fishers is an imperfect solution, and we should fix the source of the problem rather than creating more problems.

Nothing can really prevent fishing unless they completely remove the option to search for in-progress & mask menu showing how many bosses are up, then we'll pay the price with longer queues and the possibility of parties going without replacements

removing people from the pool that never wanted to be there in the first place is better.
