Could possibly work, but they'd really have to work on balancing specifically for 1 on 1. Melee and bards don't have many options for self heals, so yeah. Melee also has to be very close to do anything, whereas bard and casters can attack from a distance no problem. Melee can also get easily slept by a BLM so the BLM can heal themselves to full. Tank heals are mediocre at best, and healers have big cures and good damage mitigation on their side (with WHM having strong offense as well with cleric stance up). Would take a lot of balancing to do 1 on 1 the way classes/jobs are set up.

Somewhere in the live letter, was mentioned there was plans to allow PvP in the basement of someone's FC house.

And yeah, 1vs1 PvP is basically a rock-paper-scissors battle... with the occasional "spock's hand" pull that is SCH/SMN.

i would like to be able to walk up to a person in the middle of Mor Dhona and challenge them to a 1v1 on the spot. Make a bubble like the scholars damage decrease bubble and make that the fighting zone. If you leave the bubble you forfeit. you win, you get a credit towards some useless junk you may want, but you cant force the 1v1 they have to accept it :3 It'd be pretty sick to have a "duel" mode if or when the musketeer comes out
