pvp 1 on 1

I love to pvp and would love the option to one on one people from all the different classes. I think this would add a very awesome experience for players who like to test their skills in an uninterupted match without having to worry about team members.

Yeah I did, do you have a problem with that? The only class that wouldn't be able to really enjoy this feature is white mage, but then you can level any class you want with one character so no problem. And you don't have to watch two white mages duel it out, that's why it's called options of picking what class you want to participate in fighting with. And it still wouldn't change the current team pvp's that go on.

People should be able to have the same option to play as any job they want. They already tried this in 1.0 when there was a thing called the Hamlet, in which basically you needed to have x amount of crafters in your party to be able to have a chance at it, forcing players to level whm, a tank, or a crafting class to do content (this was part of the process of how to get a Relic), and they removed it from the game. I don't think they would want to implement something in which a job will be excluded by the system. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of re-balancing for pvp so that there aren't any ridiculous disadvantages as others have mentioned. It's not something that I see being possible. Not on this game at least.

It would just be for fun. Nobody in their right mind would make statements about balance based on 1v1 pvp. WoW has the option to duel and I've never seen anyone complain about the balance of it.

In a Game like FFXIV , where PvE is prioritized, there is not going to be perfect class balance. Class specialization is actually prized in these scenarios. I think 1v1 would be a lot of fun. Especially if you could join up with the person you wanted to fight against. As a tank, I know I don't do a lot of damage, but I would love to see if I could chip away at someone else enough to kill them before they can get through my defenses. If I lose, so what. I am still valuable for the rest of PvE, and even team PvP. I do not think 1v1 battles would give justifiable evidence for any player or SE developer to nerf or buff a player in a PvE oriented game.

I'd imagine that it would just boil down to a big match of rock, paper, or scissors, only the hand is revealed before it starts....
