The daily caps on stuff like Roulettes and Tribe quests don't bother me at all.
What really gets under my skin is the weekly limits on CT, Coil, and Myth. They conflict with what's supposed to be a core attraction and mechanic of the game, the armory system. I'm tired of being "punished" for playing DRG. DRG is the one job I really like (since the changes from 1.23 anyway) but it's not always welcome or needed. Plus, I'm the kind of player who likes to try everything out at least once and part of what kept in XI for so many years was being able to freely level AND GEAR all the jobs (plus experimenting with crazy stuff like WHM/BST soloing, which was surprisingly effective).
Not in this game though. I have everything at 50, but the only job I have really geared for (current) ' end game' is DRG. I've recently been trying for tank drops in CT, though it's not enough - for the most part, if you aren't both experienced and iLv80, you aren't getting into any PF groups for EX primals or Coil (not on Excalibur anyway). Oh, but what's this? I can't possibly farm more gear for my BLM, WHM or PLD to be useful to my FC or Coil Static as something other than DRG in any reasonable time frame because of stupid weekly caps. In the time it'd take to get all that gear, the next patch and tier of equipment will have come along anyway and so suddenly I'm stuck in the exact same predicament all over again, only perhaps maybe with the option of going with a different starting class this time.
At the same time, if they do remove all the lockouts, then failings of vertical gear progression come to bear in full - people just spam what little content there is at the end and are left with nothing to do. This is why I've been railing against the devs for days now in various topics. XI may not have been perfect, but it did a damn good job of keeping my interest for years and not because drops were horrible or the game was too hard. If this is where the MMO market is staying, see ya - Destiny's out in September. Maybe Tanaka wasn't so crazy after all.
