Thank you! Too many people around think that because their schedule is more open or flexible, everyone else it at fault for being more busy. And like you said, a hobby is a hobby.Every day is the key word here. I seriously cannot fathom why you would tell someone who cannot play a game every day that they shouldn't be playing that game. A hobby is not only valuable to the people who enjoy it daily. I don't read a book every day, and yet it's still quite a worthwhile hobby. I don't play my oboe every day, but it's still a worthwhile hobby. I don't attend meetings for whatever art club or writing club or whathaveyou every day, but that's still a worthwhile hobby. I don't play FFXIV every day, but it's still a worthwhile hobby.
There is no logic in your statement.
Agree with the OP. Daily allowances should stack and accumulate up to at least a week if they haven't been "used". The only other modern MMO I play frequently, Rift, also does this with the Dungeon bonuses; they stack up to 7 (a week).
What this would allow is for those with jobs and families who can only play on weekends, usually for more extended periods, to be able to "make-up" for the weekdays when they can't play.
+1 in agreement OP.
It's surprising that beast dailies were implemented so poorly when leves are implemented so well. FFXIV could have added beastman quests to the leve system, instead of making up a whole new system.
Maybe some parts of the dev team don't talk to each other about what works and why. Or maybe the devs are adverse to making changes to existing systems and prefers to make new things, instead of looking for ways to expand and reuse existing systems.
Regardless, I agree that beastman quests should accumulate like other leves, so people can do them all at once if they want.
You personally not liking something does not make it an "outdated" mechanic.I'm talking about the monster tribes dailies and duty roulette bonuses. The way it is set up where you can only do so many quests in a day, and how you only get the roulette bonus once a day is an outdated mechanic. I propose it be changed to the same system as leves.
In order to make the most out of dailies and roulette bonuses, one would have have to play every single day, and for us who work, that is just simply unrealistic. Please change it to allowances like the leves, so that those of us who only get to play once a week can reap the rewards like everyone else.
honestly, i think its such a contradiction that they placed a weekly cap on Myths so that players would who play too much dont get too ahead, too quick, and then they go and make these daily bonuses who reward exactly that.
I don't see anything "poorly implemented" here. Lots of games have daily quests, there's nothing wrong with them. Maybe they'll have leves too at some point as a seperate thing, that's not a bad idea, but the beastmen dailies are hardly badly implemented. They work just fine. It's surprising that beast dailies were implemented so poorly when leves are implemented so well.

You can't be profitable building an MMORPG that is entirely skill-based. There are far too many bads out there and their money is just as green as anyone else's. They're also a lot easier to make money off of. The bleeding-edge players who want to constantly be challenged by the game are expensive to please, while those who would rather grind their way to victory are much cheaper to placate.
Ok I'm starting to get sick of seeing "Outdated mechanic" now.
Leves in their current form are mostly used to build up and then blow on repeating the same thing ~100 times and maxing out a few jobs in the process. It's incredibly easy and casual but I wouldn't call it well done, personally.
I didnt say it was outdated because i didnt like it. although i didnt explicitly write it, i meant that it is outdated because it restricted a players ability to take advantage of bonuses. i.e. it hinders a players by restricting flexibility. and at this day and age companies strive to make their product more comfortable, familiar, and accesible to their consumer. and because "dailies" can not be described as this, it is outdated. You personally not liking something does not make it an "outdated" mechanic.
