How do you get gold on Odin?

I've killed him maybe 7 or 8 times now. Of those 7-8, I've been MT on him for more than 75% of his life on 4 of them. I've gotten silver each time. The other times I've killed him have been bronze, and I died a lot and barely had any uptime on him because of ranged idiocy, so I can understand the bronze.

But silver? As MT for over 3/4 of his life? How? What am I missing? How do you get gold on this cursed FATE?

The only time I managed to get gold, I was in a full party as a scholar. All I did was raise people in and outside group, but somehow still got gold. :S

So far I have fought him 6 times. 2 golds and 4 silvers.
5 of them were on my Monk the first of which was my first gold.
I believe the reason my team got gold was due to the smaller amount of people in the fate at the time. We were able to get multiple LB hits on him before we ever got to the last phase.
The last gold was early yesterday on my Warrior. I dont think I ever wrestled agro from anyone and mostly went around killing the spears in the ground while throwing the occasional dot on him.
Honestly it seems that the only way to get gold anymore is to hope that you are able to get enough damage, hate or healing done in the time it takes to kill him. If there are a ton of people he will die too quickly for anyone to get gold.

go BLM and spam BlizardII - previous poster is right. My first odin a few months ago as BLM all I did was scathe and swift cast flare. Got gold. Blizard works even better.
