Just wondering if post 2.1 changes make it so WAR doing DPS is better off using defiance or not using defiance. I'm sure someone has parsed something.

I am sorry and you are probably going to say "I asked for someone who actually parsed it thanks for nothing" but -25% damage dealt is -25% damage dealt period end of story. 1 Inner Beast at 300 potency about every 7 GCD (if only gaining stacks through attacking) is not going to make up for that.

No need to parse: 25% dmg reduction isnt something you want to have up while dding. The crit % and the wrath skills dont make up for it.
Yes, I parsed myself briefly after switching to WAR a couple weeks ago.
Over a 90 second period, with about ilvl80~ gear, my DPS was:
Defiance + Tank gear = 168 DPS
No defiance + Tank gear = 200 DPS
No defiance + some DPS gear = 225 DPS
My sample size was only a few tries at each but it paints a reasonable picture and the DPS with defiance was about in line with what I expected.
Note - I was specced into 30 STR at the time.

WAR + Defiance is much lower DPS. Don't do it when DPS'ing. Yes, it's been parsed.
My buddy's been running MRD with DPS gear for CT. I want him to try WAR with DPS gear, too, but I think he's addicted to all the cross-class skills. Anyway, we comfortably finish Atomos 15 seconds before other parties, and sometimes we're even further ahead. I know this is off topic, but more people need to play with it coz it's hilarious.

You're better off going MRD if you want to DPS. Most of WAR's abilities are tank-oriented and Steel Cyclone doesn't do you any good without Wrath stacks. That and you get 5 extra cross class abilities to choose from.
The only downside is you're going to need a pretty specialized set of gear to pull it off. Allagan Axe is obviously best in slot, but if you PvP at all you can get the i90 axe which can be overmelded. Some of the other i90 PvP gear is good as well, but you lose a secondary stat since Morale is on them, but again, you can overmeld them all(Oops, just read the tooltip that materia only works in PvP). Some of the Allagan main set pieces are good, but a lot of it is sub-optimal since it has parry on it. There's also the Ex Primal accessories which are multi-class.
Just to put together a quick set of gear I'd do something like this:
Weapon: Allagan Axe or Direwolf Axe
Head: Direwolf Helm of Fending
Body: Direwolf Cuirass of Fending
Hands: Heavy Allagan Gauntlets or Direwolf Gauntlets of Fending
Waist: Hero's Belt of Fending
Legs: Direwolf Cuisses of Fending
Feet: Direwolf Sabatons of Fending or Sabatons of Light (easier to obtain, but weaker)
All of the accessory slots would have to be a judgment call between Hero's/Allagan/Ex Primals based on how much accuracy you have.
Obviously it would be a rather huge undertaking to get a MRD properly geared due to the fact that you have to get to Rank 30 in PvP AND have the PvP currency.
