I didnt miss your point at all. You are angry at people that are angry at what they get in return or expect to get in return for the money they invested. So yes you are being an hypocrite, just because you dont find anything to complain about, doesnt mean others cant complain, and then come here and you believe in freedom ? what would you call this ?

I understand you dont find anything wrong with the game, me either to be honest, but again, since you missed my point, you have no right either to tell others what they have the right to think, do, believe, when it comes to their time, money, and spare time. Your point would have been probably better off with a slightyl differnt approach in the title of your thread.

But that is me, what do I know

I complain about games I play because I want to see them get better. I want to light a fire under the developers' collective asses; I don't want them getting comfortable and having the easy life. I want them to do their best, and the only way to do that is to call them out when they fail to do so.

And I haven't once complained that there wasn't enough to do. I have, instead, complained about things that were done poorly or not done at all. I have said, "What the Hell, Developer?" many times with the intent to try and sway Square's decisions toward delivering more to their customers. Failing to do so will result only in stagnation; Square-Enix is a business and they exist to make money. If we, the consumers, do not demand that they deliver their very best, then we are partially to blame if the game heads down the path to mediocrity.

So true and if people leave the game., All the time and money and, the time, and effort played on the game is just wasted. So why not try and help them even if seems stupid or a amazing ideas. There job is to make money , and we get the best subscription that are hard earn money paying for.

I purchased a computer from best buy a few years ago, it cost about $500. I ended up upgrading the gpu and power supply, add another $200. After playing this game since beta, my gf decided she wanted to play, so i gave her that computer. Purchased another computer for $600, and upgraded the gpu and power supply, for an additional $300. This is not even including the cost of the game, and we are very satisfied with our toys.

Anyone thought about bludgeoning George Martin to death for not writing the next Game of thrones book fast enough or creating Sansa Stark ?

No. In most cases it is quite literally my 2 "sense". How could you possibly think it meant anything otherwise?

    OP...

I know what you were going for, but, you need to find better means to deliver your message.

Telling people to break it down dollar by dollar doesn't work when it comes to MMORPG's, which are constantly being patched/adjusted/evolving.

Yes, a lot of people have invested HUNDREDS of hours into something that they have spent no more than $200 on.

Here's where it falls apart though...

(this is all hypothetical, I personally enjoy the game and started playing when 2.1 was released)

Anyways, hypothetically, let's say I spent 100 hours playing during 2.0 and spent $100 between the price of the game and subscription fees. By your logic, I got 1 hour of enjoyment for every $1 I spent... I should be doing backflips.

Here's the problem though, SE comes out with 2.1 and I personally feel that everything they did was a step in the wrong direction. I go from loving every session to absoultely hating the game.

I havn't just wasted $100... no, I've also sunk 100 hours of my time into something that I thought was going in one direction, and then had the rug pulled out from under my feet.

Using your insane DVD analogy... what if you popped in your DVD one day, and the ending you loved had be "edited" or "patched" by the director and turned into something you absoultely hated? Sure, you loved the movie those first 32 times you watched it... but, now your scarred by this new terrible ending, and you can't go back to the old ending.

Now, a sane person would just let their wallet do the talking and leave/never pop the DVD in again. They would view it as a sunk cost that they are not going to get back. They would also appreciate the enjoyment they did have those first 32 times they watched it, because the past/memories can't be taken away.

An insane person would continue to log in every day hoping things got better/keep watching the DVD and hoping the ending changed.

Both of those people though, they SHOULD let the developer/director know that they are dissatisfied with the direction the product took. If they don't let them know, there is nothing the developer/director can do.

I've left a few MMORPG's over the last decade. Every time I've left, I have made a post on the offical forums letting the developer know why I was leaving. I tried to do it as respectfully as possible, but, a few times I did log back in to see the reactions, and I remember people flooding the thread with, "yea, well, you suck! Stop whining and GTFO!" type posts.

If you can't offer criticisms on the offical forums, where can you offer them?

If you were going after the, "I'm bored... you need to release another 170 quest main scenario every month" crowd, why even waste the time typing? They are obviously morons who are going to be gone within a few weeks/months and onto the "next big MMORPG" anyways.

People who are dissatisfied with the direction a game is taking after a major patch though? I see where they are coming from and can empathize with them, even if I might not fully agree with their viewpoint.

(and, for the record, I'm still enjoying the game)

"My two cents" (2¢) and its longer version "put my two cents in" is a United States (US) idiomatic expression,[1] taken from the original English idiom expression: to put in "my two pennies worth" or "my two-penn'orth." It is used to preface the tentative stating of one’s opinion. By deprecating the opinion to follow – suggesting its value is only two cents, a very small amount – the user of the phrase hopes to lessen the impact of a possibly contentious statement, showing politeness and humility. However, it is also sometimes used with irony when expressing a strongly felt opinion. The phrase is also used out of habit to preface uncontentious opinions.

The phrase "If you don't put your two cents in, how can you get change?" encourages an expression of opinion. It makes a pun on the word "change". One meaning of change is an alteration – presumably to bring someone or something in agreement with an expressed opinion. Another meaning of change is the cash equivalent of an overpayment. Thus the reference to two cents is in accord with another idiom that values opinions at one cent (penny for your thoughts).

    ------------

If you're going to use an idiom, use them correctly.

Because you argued that it's not "my two cents" and was rather "my two sense". Just accept that you got the phrase wrong and be done with it. Trying to claim a high ground after being proven wrong makes you sound petty.

Anyway, that's just my two cents, and i'll give you a third for your thoughts.
