Only place I can imagine where an agreement to only greed even if you can need, or let a specific person be the only one to lot on an item, would make sense is coil, and that only in statics.
It makes sense also in party finder groups, as many times a member can switch to tank or healer (which are harder to find) but won't because they are afraid someone will need on the drop they want with the job they joined.
