Strong Skeletons near Bentbranch / Tranquil

On my way to Ul'dah from Gridania I encountered several (about 10-12) Level 43 Skeleton Warriors dotted all the way along 'The Lumberline'. The first was sat like a sentry near Bentbranch, the rest of them dotted along the road. The last encounter was just before Camp Tranquil. I run along this route every 2-3 days and this is the first time I've ever seen them. They all aggroed and chased me and then 'returned to their territory' so they were not somebody's levequest. They were not quest monsters, I have no active quests.

Anyone else have this? All my friends and linkshell members have never seen them before.

hmm seems the walking dead might be leaking into the black shroud...interesting.

I know they appear at night sometimes in Thanalan. First I've heard of a sighting in Grid's neck of the woods.

if I'd known it was such a rare occurance I would have screenshot, I assumed it to be rather ordinary until I spoke to my linkshell about it.

I have never seen them myself but I remember a few threads on here about them in The Shroud area because people were annoyed that high agro Skele's would be blocking their path. They just said they only pop at night and to wait until morning for them to despawn.

Not sure if it is the same skele's, you might have found something new, like I said I have never seen them before but then I only go to Grid or the Shroud if is absolutely necessary and then I usually tele to where I need to get to.

I have only seen the one on the road near Tranquil, and heard others mention it as well. I haven't seen or heard of any near Bentbranch, interesting!

Granted, I haven't regularly run to either of those camps in awhile though, and with the, erm, low traffic that the Black Shroud gets (especially outside of the Ul'dah --> Gridania route), I wouldn't be surprised if this was the first time most people found out about any such skellies near Bentbranch.
