Well lol, if OP tought this mmo's community is a unique suprise, try wow This community is the exact copy, same exact junk human being. Gw2 too, same kind of people (mostly, same players too)
You're just dealing with wow bored players pesting other games.
They pested gw2 turning that game to trash as community, now this. You have to hope once teso and wildstar are out something will change on this community.
As much, looking at gw2, ff14arr launch didn't fix that community. It's still the same junk.

So i honestly doubt the toxicity costantly reported on this forum will never change. It will just be worst.
Much more because people like us, kind nice players like the OP, bored to deal with dogshit human beings will just quit once a new mmo will be out.
    Try to imagine what's left..

See it's fun. We nice player move, dogshit move too. So again, teso and wildstar will have dogshit community too and after 1 month you will see loads threads of how toxic is the community and how horrible is the behaviour of random players met on a group.
Tl Tr: If you're lucky to find your tiny group of nice players (regardless of the mmo title), stick with them until they quit the game, don't play when they are offline.

But if sadly you want to play a bit with random players, then this is my advice, regarding your issue:
Be the PF leader , pick slow and easy and newcomers are welcome, type as comment "NO RUSH NO BASH. TRAINING GROUP. LET'S TRY"
Once someone of your group attempt to open his mouth fingerpointing the issue like if he know what's wrong with a bad attitude, instakick and try to find a replacement.
May work. Don't be surprised if once you start to kick around (or the group fail couple times) some members will leave.
Yes, some are a bit retarded to understand it was a training group regardless of what you wrote as group description and comment. ADHD hits hard when out of pharmacs lol
Also, next time report asap players like the one you met for harrassment. Copy paste the chat during the report.

You would be pleased to know the JP community is dealing with the same dogshit human beings on titan ex, ifrit ex and coil 5, just japanese speaker douchebags.
But to add the douchbaggery they are also racist against any gaijin (so if the group failed it's just because of that damned gaijin, regardless of the truth)

Give a try, my suggestion may give you a lucky funny day, ONCE. Don't expect what i wrote as a working strategy every day. It would require an amazing server where the majority are nice peeps.
Forget it, the majority is dogshit.

This method is valid until April 4th..cough..

It boils down to *respect*, consideration* and more importantly, remembering that one day they too had to try it for the first time and probably many and more times. .THAT is the crunch and the real problem. Nothing else. Attitude is into question here. Trials and mistakes are part of the game, to get better requires to be bad (so to speak), at least bad to someone at any rate. But what do I know ?

I agree with you that it takes many trials and wholeheartedly agree with and wish I could give more likes to respect and consideration. But the "one hit/mistake and you lose" rule is only artificial difficulty.

I know Titan like the back of my hand because I've failed him so many times (Duty Finder!). But if I flub up and miss running from a Landslide or get hit by a stacked Plume or bomb after a tumult...that's it, I'm out, and that's really bad if I'm the healer, and I usually am. I am human. Yes I have it memorized, but I can still mess up. But that's not fair to the other 7 people and that's what has slowly but surely ticked off this community so much to the point they want nothing but perfection. One person messing up costs the entire party the win. Now I will concede that overgeared members can compensate for one person who has fallen in battle, after all that's how the "paid service" carrying battles came into existence. But that's rare, and shouldn't be needed.

Also quit putting yourself down, unless you're the healer I had that was a, quote "Battle Cleric" and didn't heal because he didn't role play that way, you are not the worst healer that ever entered FFXIV.

I'm really saddened to see that you had this trouble... Especially on our server. My partner and I actually transfered from what I felt was the most toxic server-community to Balmung and have had almost entirely positive experiences. We haven't yet reach the level of Coil or EX mode primals but so far things have been good as long as we're within the server.

I have noticed some of the unfortunate elitism in the Party Finder but I'm glad it's there as opposed to being forced onto Duty Finder randoms.

That said I do agree that this game's vocal community is by far the worst I have ever experienced and I have played in a number of games over the years. It seems that with every game my partner and I end up going to the bar gets a little bit lower with each community and I'm worrying that it is a slow degradation of the MMO community as a whole.

For a genre designed around social activity and teamwork it also seems to foster the worst of humanity and some games just heap it on themselves with some of their mechanics (this one in particular).

To the OP, again I'm really sorry you had a bad group. I assure you there are better folks about than those you're bumping into. It's just that negative always leaves a stronger impact than positive.

Bitter because MMO's haven't really improved that much in the last 20 years . Graphics are pretty tho .

Feminine Hygiene Product containers wouldn't be any less so, but I kinda imagine that for every one person who knows what the numbers mean and understands their limitations (not to mention weaknesses in actual parsers), there are many more who take the numbers at face value and make assumptions based on incomplete information. Misunderstood data can be more damaging than lack of data.

I hear you OP. This is the worst I've personally ever seen for any gaming community. Even the FPS'ers that always get railed on for being so immature were overall more easy going then this crowd. It's gotten so bad even when I beat content I can't have any joy in it because of the constant bad attitudes from players. Rather then the thrill of victory I just feel relief that I don't have to deal with them anymore.

I'm simply refusing to P.U.G certain content at all because of it. Which leaves me little to look forward to log in for unfortunately. Game is plenty of fun with your own FC but can't count of FC runs every time I log in. Really killing the game.

OP I feel for you and see this kind of elitism all the time.

For Example I recently on my SCH helping people on Titan HM. These people admitted they were new, and even had it as their party finder status. A bard joined whose gear was i80~ish. After a wipe he commented, "I came here to help, but if were not going to 1 shot this why would I bother?"

I honestly had to reply back. "You do realize people are new and your expecting a one shot? Are you kidding?"

He got offended and called me something as far as inexperienced and retarded.... I had to laugh. Anyways he ended up leaving the PT furious that a new group could not 1 shot titan. This guy. So funny.

We ended up killing it a few tries afterwards. I just always think how funny people are in this game. One wipe and it's the end of the world.
