I hate to read topics like this because I hate that this happens. It's true that the anonymity of the internet plays a role but there's still a person typing/saying it and they really need to take a breath and realize what they're doing. And, bluntly put, I think anyone who goes into these Extreme fights (and well, Titan HM) expecting perfection without doing them with people you know and trust is naive, and such arrogance is unwarranted. And there's the problem: It doesn't help that these kinds of fights require near perfection to win. One mistake is enough to cost the entire battle, and that, to me, is artificial difficulty, and it's annoying. That's my opinion, but I don't really think it's fair that one mistake by any member of the party can cost a win. I just feel like these constant "perfection required" battles are not doing this game's community any favors. And there are a lot of them.
You are playing with people that grew up playing MMOs; how do you except them to behave? Bitter comes to mind...
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo
actually, I dont totally agree with you, Rhindas, near perfection can only achieved after many trials. If it was too easy the game would lose its interest. No what the problem is, isnt the *near perfect* need, but the requirements that players have and put on other players that may not be at the same level of knowledge and trials as them. It boils down to *respect*, consideration* and more importantly, remembering that one day they too had to try it for the first time and probably many and more times. .THAT is the crunch and the real problem. Nothing else. Attitude is into question here. Trials and mistakes are part of the game, to get better requires to be bad (so to speak), at least bad to someone at any rate. But what do I know ?
Mei worst healer that ever entered FXIV
Sorry about that OP. It suxs.
I feel for you.....the other day i was doing Gardua in a DF group (just wanted fun and to spend some time waiting my friends online). I cured my butt off. After our first wipe the other WHM made comment that i should heal and not just stand there (among other unsavoury comments). I replied with a What? I am! and some other non emotional statements. I think she tried to kick me, because there was a long pause. Nothing happened (we were ready to go, but everyone just stood there). Eventually the tank stepped forward and the WHM said "Oh. OK. lets try again". I think her kick attempt failed.
We beat it after another wipe. I stayed, because in chat people had said they were doing it for the relic, and I remember that long slog so wanted to help them.
Unless I am getting serious abuse, I usually don't rise to it - sometimes even just type lol. I got better things to spend my energy on that trying to be reasonable with people like that (cos u cant be)

I have a thick skin thanks to the rest of the internet, and I'm quite used to MMOs being populated by wonderful people and idiots alike. Combine the two and all I can say is that I feel for you, OP, but don't let it get you down. Seems you have a friendly FC and there are still cool random people out there so don't shy away from associating from strangers. Keep your spirits high and remember to have fun.![]()
Even if someone isn't performing you don't be a dick about it. You try and help this person perform better, that's what defines a "good player" - someone willing to help others.
I have no time for bullying at all. The bonus I have is that being the Tank I can usually interject before it gets out of hand. Usually with "Feel free to leave if you have a problem" or "We don't start till this stops". I sound like a 60 year old school teacher but it works. Especially in DF when people are getting forced to skip cutscenes.
Usually there is one big mouth and the party are too scared of confrontation to say anything. If someone's harassing they should be kicked. As a community we are the ones that need to stop it from continuing.
No they are not. I have seen PF parties with requirements that are much higher than what is needed to complete the encounter or do the activity(i80 for WP speed runs, parties that boast kicking people on the first death....), along with the general "exp onry, will queue for Titan" nonsense that seems to be pervading it. People don't want to go through the motions of making sure party members are ready for the fight, they want their win with random people without thinking about it, treating the game like its single player. Ironically the wins there take longer and are less satisfying, IMO.
Thick skin is what you need when you play anything online
I would have kicked the bard and told the rest if they wanted to leave its up to them and rebuild the party
people are D's online its really boils down to that. Nothing new
