CT Loot System 1.876 millionth thread about it! Bad game design.

I'm ok with 1 per week.. but when I get a lag spike and everyone leaves the instance for the loot to automatically fall into my pool.. VERY BAD GAME DESIGN!..

No I don't think I'm special to have my own thread, just annoyed and don't want to research/read other topics.

Ya? 75/35mbps FiOS internet here troll. Open your closed mind that the lag issue is always on the ISP side. Your point is moot, as ISP has nothing to do with the point of bad game design.

That explains your lag spike. Hopefully for all of us FIOS users a solution comes soon. As for the CT drop issue, that's a problem I hope they fix as well. Sucks to be locked out of loot for a week because of something you didn't lot on.

You realize high speed does not mean consistent speed, right? You could say you have 10000/1000 mbps and it wouldn't mean anything if you're lag spiking. Blaming all issues on the SE server (whether rightfully so or not) is ignorant without any proof. I had similar issues with time warner cable. After switching providers, it magically went away! I guess it was the SE servers, huh?

And before you try to use this as an argument; traceroutes took it through the same points for both providers. One of the issues people are experiencing is that more and more providers are recognizing it as a P2P game, and throttling your internet at certain points. Which is something the internet company has to fix.

Personally, I'd argue that any arbitrary caps on content are bad game design. Myth tomes, CT loot, treasure maps, guildhests, coil lockout...

That aside, I agree - if you don't click "Need" or "Greed" it shouldn't apply a lockout.

The lag spikes only started occurring after 2.1, I haven't ever seen it before on FFXIV which makes me believe it isn't because of FiOS. So I'm not sure what "solution" you know of for FiOS users.

That doesn't change the fact it's poor design that if everyone leaves before people pass they get the item forced on them.
