Parry rates, block % and armor calculations

In tank role I want to know what really is the best stat to sink my 30 points in. Seems like roughly 1 vit is 10 hp around. Honestly I don't know if the 300 hp bonus would be better than having a higher parry rate and % of it plus some extra damage from strength to regain more hp from bloodbath for example. In some other games I play the armor and damage reduction more than make up for hp in the end. I'd rather have higher armor and take 60 less from each shot for example or more often than having a 300 plus hp pool from the stat choosing. Does anyone know the numbers and did the math, of exactly how much strength will increase the parry % by and how often parry occurs with dex? This would help me a lot when choosing and mixing armors for end game as I don't really want to test armors with different stats over and over if someone already checked it out. Thanks!

The parry rate you get for each point of STR is miniscule compared to the HP you get for VIT. Still, most tanks I've spoken to have said that 20 VIT and 10 STR is a really nice middle ground.

Do you know what the % is though, with maxed parry rates or % blocked with full 30 strength and 0 strength?
Like do you block 20% dmg with 0 str with a 10% chance with 0 dex. or block 30% dmg with 20 strength and 15% chance with 10 dex? Something like this.

This one is pretty good as most of it seems to hold true though it is 1.0 data. Alternatively you can also try Bluegartr for tanking info.

1 VIT = 14.5 HP. Therefore 30 VIT is equivalent to 450 HP. 450 HP is more consistent than gaining 1% in block/party chance/mitigation for tanks.

What about DEX and dodge rate? For a while I had 5 in DEX as a paladin and I really liked seeing "Dodged!" in my flying text. It doesn't happen as much since I respec'd full VIT, or so it seems.

DEX doesn't affect dodge at all. In fact no stat does. DEX only helps tanks with block/parry chances.

Sigh... that's really hard to come to grips with, for an old-school D&D player, who's used to seeing high DEX as being the "Ha ha, you missed me!" God-stat.

Miyagi-san: "Best defense - no be there!"

There are ways to bump your dodge chance, but it's not a permanent thing. Like Blind, which is subject to diminishing returns. And Featherfoot, but Paladins can't use it, Warrior can however.
