I want 2.2 to be a "reset" for players in full i90 gear. Make Turn 6 a distant goal.

Remember what is was like to hit Lv50 for the first time? Darklight gear was amazing and just getting into Coil was a distant dream? I want the ceiling raised so we have that same lv of progression in 2.2

Make turn 6 of coil require at least iLv120 gear and require an avg of i90 gear to run the new dungeons.

Dungeons should drop green i100 armor and new tombstones.
New tombstones buy i110 LightDark and crafting items.
    New primals drop i120 accessories
A new and much harder relic quest for i120 weap
reserve i130 for CT part 2
    Allagan2/AF2 i140 gear
    Allag weaps i145

uh huh uh huh, I don't think blindly raising the level progression is a good thing however. That is a massive jump btw, suddeny from i90 to 50 ilvls lol.

That's no different from when you hit lv50. Item lv jumped 40 levels. I'm basically mimicking the same exact lv of progression with the new ilv scaled to match.

except that you don't need ilevel 90 to enter coil1

No, this is completely different from when you hit 50. When you hit 50 you start off with i50-55 gear. Then you get i55 from WP, and i60 from AK (it's a bit more varied now). THEN you get DL gear i70. NOW you have i80 gear from CT and then i90 gear from coil.

Why do so many people care so much about ilvl progression btw, It's more player understanding of mechanics and not dying to them that gets you through, gear only gets you so far.

It's entirely different. The only way what you said could be similiar is if they increased ilvl and level of characters. Hitting 50 - when 50 WAS THE CAP; you're ilvl increase was only 10, then 20, etc etc. It was a slow increase. Not a ooop ding 50 ; now I get the i150 axe that dropped 5023423 times that I put into my armory because no one else could get it.

I think your missing the entire point of PROGRESSION.

They just need to make the boss mechanics interesting and the gear drops ilvl 95. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, otherwise Coil 1-5 gear would be almost pointless if they retired it so early. Also, iLvl 145? Lol.

This is what I expect. Ilv95 (100 tops) for the new gear, and bosses tuned up from ilv90+, with mechanics that are more about skill (even if they end up being "cheap" one shots like pre-nerf twister) than just gear. Increasing Ilv too much at this point would pretty much break the game.

Just chirping in even though I'm a noob in this particular game. I agree with increasing the difficulty of a fight mechanics "awareness". Not just making moves pop faster or so though, not fair to laggy regions, but making moves like twister where the game didn't straight out tell you how to beat it with too many hints. I'm not into hardcore raiding anymore because of life being busy, but I always enjoyed when games offered me a new challenge and not just repainted increased gear and mechanics(Forcing to grind easy to semi-easy places that just take time but are no longer difficult.) Possibly make an instance or Dungeon that requires being good at multiple classes and will allow to switch jobs and such during that instance. Reserved for the hardcore people who need the challenge and will walk away after too much grinding. Sorry if I rambled too much just really enjoy the game and am looking forward to whats new in the next patch^^
