Fishing: Glowing Icon on Fishing Log

I've noticed that as I fish, there are various icons on the fishing holes. Some icons have little stars by them, and some don't. What I found really interesting is that the cursor that marks my character on the fishing log is now green and shining. Does anyone have any clue what this means?

It seems like this is either a stupid question, or one that no one knows the answer.

Never noticed, but I'm guessing the stars are similar to 1 and 2 star crafting items.

Not sure what you're talking about by the green, maybe that you've caught all the fish in that hole or that you are in that hole where you are standing.

The two star fishing holes are legendary. No idea what makes them so. For instance, Patera's Peace is a legendary but offers no 2 star fish, yet Cape Westwind, right next to it, isn't despite the fact that the Titanic Sawfish is caught (or at least fished for) there.

No concept on the green thing.

Not sure about the green, but the stars mean that you cannot fish at that hole until the level of that specific hole has been reached.

It's these holes that use the Gullyeye trait.

Thank you so much for your explanation of the stars on the fishing holes. It seems that you are spot on! As far as the icon is concerned, I’ll try to get screen shots to show what I mean. I thought at first it was a timed thing, akin to the message ‘the fish know there’s something up’ message you get by standing in one place for an extended time. I fished until I received that message tonight, but there was no change in the icon on my fishing log. I also checked it at different game times to see if it changed with the game clock. No dice…

I’m just curious as to if this icon has any bearing on our success/fishing rates. Beyond an hourly clock, does anyone know if there are seasons or lunar cycles? Perhaps a cycle that corresponds with our deity choice? Again, I’ll try to screen shot the icon color change and provide as much info as possible on it.
