I think so - altho I can't confirm 100%.
I use a wireless keyboard on my PS.....but it is the same principle...little usb in the front port. keyboard on my lap
Work perfect

hope it works too, thanks a lot =)
From the looks of it, it's designed to make a keyboard with a PS/2 connector work like a keyboard with a USB connector, and I know USB connector keyboards work on a Playstation 3, so I would think that should work.
Impossible to tell from just a picture. Depends on whether the adapter includes a chip to actually convert dumb PS/2 signals to full USB signals, or if it just matches circuit to circuit. See here. And/or google for "will ps/2 to usb adapter work with any keyboard" and check all the various posts and such.
If you're buying this online, read the reviews and spec details before you buy it. If you've already got it, just try it and cross your fingers.
This adapter only works with keyboards designed to be used on both PS2 as well as USB connections. The new keybords are so cheap / affordable that it might be better to simply get a new / separate USB or bluetooth keybord only for PS3 instead.
first i would like to thank you all for your help.
ok, what i did is: buy a ps/2 adapter for both keyboard and mouse (see pic bellow) i connected both KB and mouse to PS3, the mouse worked like a charm but for some reason the keyboard didn't, but when i use it on a laptop it works (i'm using it right now)
now is there anyway to make it work on my ps3?
thank you again and sorry for long post

It depends really on the keyboard as it's PS2 type it could be some older model drawing too much power and PS3 might not cope with that as well as your PC. As it's an active adapter is should work correctly. One other option you can try is to put the (powered) USB hub between PS3 and this adapter (or use let's say one built in the monitor if you have such model) etc.

i'm sorry i don't understand the part about the powered usb hub, could you please explain more?
btw to make things clear by ps/2 i mean the regular purple port and it has nothing to do with the playstation 2
A USB hub is a device that lets you plug multiple USB peripherals into one USB port. You plug the hub into a port on your PC/PS3, and it has several USB ports that you can plug devices into.
A powered USB hub is one that includes a power cable, so that it's able to provide power to every device instead of drawing power from the PC/PS3's USB port. USB ports do not provide metric tons of power, so if you're plugging multiple power-hungry devices into one, they won't necessarily work.
Have you tried using the adapter on your PS3 with just the keyboard plugged in instead of both keyboard and mouse? If it is a power issue, taking out the mouse might provide the keyboard with enough power through the PS3's ports.
