I *HAVE* to know what song I heard in-game!!!

So, I was questing in Gridania, and I came upon a FATE boss, who was I think level 24. He was a big plant-looking thing, with a vine that stretch upwards really high.

Anyways, the music that played had the same melody as the trademark Final Fantasy chime, just like the log-in screen does, but it was a badass, orchestral version of it. The main part was a violin, and was accented by other intruments, giving it a dark, serious "Battle" sound.

Does anybody know what song this is? More specifically, where I might be able to download its mp3, or even just listen via YouTube?

That wouldn't be the 'Lazy for You' FATE in the East Shroud against the Ochu 'Lazy Laurence' by any chance? If I remember rightly, that track is currently not available commercially sadly - ARR doesn't have a full soundtrack available yet, other than the six track album included with the Collector's Edition.

Ahh, I do believe that is the one!!! Man, that music was utterly phenomenal! I just wound up standing there, probably 5 minutes, just listening to the music. SO. GOOD!!!!!

It might not be "available" but it certainly is out there if your willing to search a little, I have 2 Official soundtracks (Realm Reborn and Echoes of Nostalgia) and 1 unofficial PC Rip of the installed music files all 3 of which I found online totaling out at over 200 tracks and about 1.1 gigs of mp3's.

Uh, 'official' you say? Those 'albums' you quoted don't actually exist, as there is actually no official soundtrack album available for ARR yet, other than the small 6-track mini-album Sounds of Eorzea that came with the Collector's Edition. There is also the complete 1.0 OST Before Meteor which has a lot of tracks that were reused in ARR, and three earlier albums for 1.0 that were only small selections (Field Tracks, Battle Tracks and Eorzean Frontiers).

Anything else is an illegal rip from the game, which sounds to me is what you've found and which has been passed off as officially licensed by SE when it's not.

okay it appears you are correct, going back to the original sites I got these 3 from they are compiled and / or leaked soundtracks, not official releases, not that I really mind when I'm listening to the 18+ gigabytes of FF music I've collected over the years
