Simply put, you exploit (yes I use this word, because that is what it is) the "in progress" check box when you repeatedly decline to fish for that 2/4 or 3/4 party. The duty finder was intended to quickly form groups from random people, not to give a few tanks a shortcut through the content to the parts they deem most worthy of their time. You do in fact rob time from those others who queued in good faith by forcing them to sit doing nothing but watching the "searching for replacement" message. In extreme cases even moving those people back in the queue as illustrated several times in this thread.

If you chose to ignore these facts, you are the problem, and deserve the punishment systems described in this thread to be put in place.

you do know that its more then tanks doing this??? i see DPS and heals doing this all the time. and untill SE says its against the rules or is an exploit its not. and it does not rob time from others you sir have no idea.... take the jumping in pvp SE came out and said almost instantly Dont do it its not intended we are fixing it..... but nothing with inprogress.... how come???? exactly cause nothing is wrong with doing it.

SE didn't say abusing the old glitch with the Chimera was against the rules, but once they found out about it, they laid down the rule rather quick. So... anything's free game until SE catches on and holds your hand with a TOS addendum?

A man who stabbed another man with a spork, a combination fork and spoon, earlier this year in what police said was an attempted robbery was sentenced Thursday to a year in prison for felony assault.

Again, a person choosing to withdraw is not affecting you. Can you prove its the same person? Can you prove its always tanks doing it? Can you prove your queue time is made longer because of another player needing to withdraw?

I'm not sure why people are continually arguing with Angiline, they obviously don't care that this method is affecting multitudes of people daily in a negative way, so lets just note that and move on. No one wins arguing in circles with someone who just won't get it. I'm leaning towards troll either way.

There are plenty of reasonable suggestions in this thread, I hope SE addresses this soon and implements one of them. I'm personally not happy with the current one, and what it allows.

you do know there are several people that agree with me.... and we have proven it doesnt increase your wait time. i actually dont do this because i need loot off first 2 bosses. But i know people that do and it still doesnt bother me.

It affects me if I am gathering and I have to stop doing so to change jobs, thus removing any GP I have saved up, and then not being able to resume gathering for the amount of time it takes for a legit person to take that place... Also healers and dps tend to have much longer queue times regardless of this issue making this exploiting of the system much less likely.

ive never waited more hten 10min solo queueing for CT as a dps and ive never waited longer then 5min as a healer for CT.

That law, was not explicitly about spork poking. That was general assault, applied to an individual case.

That means, as I hoped you would understand, that just because a rule does not explicitly say something is disallowed, it still may be a violation of a broader rule.




This, could be applied to the situation of DF-ditching as it disrupts the game experience of other players, and disrupts the the instance servers normal functions.

did you not read the whole case law i gave a specific ruleing of sporking someone is against the law... come one you got to give me props for actually finding a case that involves a spork to the EYE none the less.

So you want SE to read every single players mind and see if they dodged for legit reasons? You want SE to waste man power and server space to keep logs of EVERY single queue dodger's dodge record? Let's be realistic here. Next tank the queues up will most likely be down for the dungeon. Stop whining because someone cost you an extra 30 seconds.

People waste other people's time everyday in real life. You really just have to suck it up and move on with your life or you are going to find yourself bitter and worked up over little things like this.

True, neither is being the first to leave a duty, yet you get a 30min penalty for doing so.

It has also been repeatedly explained how this withdraw spam does indeed slow your queue.

That is different from hitting withdraw repeatedly, looking for a good in-progress CT.

I don't think thats its that they don't understand, I think they just don't want to understand, FFXIV is thier "holy land" they can do whatever they want till someone from SE tells them otherwise. They know they can't act like this in the real world or they would get stuffed in a locker at school, so here they are living that life of griefing others that so often brought upon them in the real world and because its thier holy land they're defending it with all they have. Chances are they come from single parent households and don't really have much going for them so they don't play well with others.

I think part of the problem is with no strong male figure around to lay down the law they have no sense of responsibility which is why you see the behavior they are exhibiting right now, this is where they can be that warlord and try to take whatever they want. I feel kind sorry for them.
