Because there's no way to join in-progress only, just a flag that puts you in both fresh and in-progress queues. If there was an "in-progress only" queue all the tanks would just use that all the time and nobody would get into dungeons ever.Im pretty sure repeatedly spamming withdraw until you get what you want isn't working as intended. Just joing the inprogress only queue and you won't be inconveniencing anyone. You've already stated you don't have any intention of joining a new start so why would you join a new start queue?
That doesn't make sense, Tanks have to go into a new party in order to have a "in progress party" later on(ex rage quit, DC etc)... lol.
That's like saying you want the middle piece of the bread.... but you have to make the whole bread to have a middle piece.
If they separate it, no one would use the progress function because it would be slow as hell.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Including the tanks because there would be no inprogress parties to join.
That's how many of us goes.
Speed running AK? Ban!
Enraging ADS? Ban!
Lockings mobs out of the boss room? Ban!
Don't bother making the game better, just ban everyone. It solves everything.
So this dude is saying that you can't have like 5 instant que ups and withdraws where only one of those five you actually get to see the damn window isn't pissing off the rest of the people waiting? To me the in progress isn't just for that but as a well I would like whatever gives me a shorter que time. There probably should be some kind of a cool down for people who abuse it. How you tell I'm not sure. I have missed ques do to being distracted or my child thinking it's funny to hit the withdraw or to just not hit it for me at all. Or hey I've been waiting for a while but I gotta go pee so of course it goes off. That probably shouldn't be punished as harshly.
Back to the instant withdraw after being qued bit I've had the wonderful message twenty time within seconds while zoning. I doubt this is the same person withdrawing or the same people getting screwed. I hope SE addresses this in the next letter.
I actually don't really care if people choose to use it this way, it honestly doesn't affect me in any way that muting either the sound effects or the game doesn't solve.
It's more annoying to me when people let the timer run out to be honest.
The "in-progress" option, I think, had the intent of: "well, there aren't any new groups forming, but we have this group already in dungeon, if you don't mind joining them and losing out on the earlier bosses." However, that's pure speculation.
Anywho, whatever the intent, the option is being abused--especially in CT. CT queue boss Phase 2 is really annoying (Phase 1 being forming the party). I think bans of days are a bit excessive though. I want to echo again what someone once suggested-- if you withdraw, you receive a 30s penalty before you can queue again. If you're crafting or finishing a FATE, no biggie. However, if you withdraw again, within say a 1 min period, you receive a 1 min penalty, etc. Long enough to deter constant abuse but short enough not to completely inconvenience someone who may have other motives.

Wow, some people actually withdraw on purpose waiting for in progress.
Alright i can imagine that.. but thinking that this is the way they meant for it to work when they implemented it, seriously? I have no doubt that if they notice people are actually doing this, they'll fix it somehow(sooner or later).
Also as little or big of an inconvenience to anyone as it might be, who are you to cause it?
What if everyone did it, because if its designed for one to do it its designed so that it's accounting for everyone else to do it as well.
No surprise but some people clearly think they're entitled to more than others.
Tanks and healers who withdraw more than once, hoping to get an in progress run, should be hit with the 30 minute DF lock out.
Period.
I spent over 90 minutes in the queue for CT on sunday. I got my first party after 40 minutes (which i'm used to by now) but it took another 50 minutes to actually get 24 people to accept. That's enough to make a person quit playing, at least for a few days. If my FC isn't available to run with me and I don't see anything in the PF, i'm not gonna do instances anymore.
Add a second checkbox that is checked by default: Join From Beginning (JfB). Quick code in the background to select the other box if you ever try to deselect both.
JfB only checked: Same as regular queue now without Join in Progress (JiP) checked.
JfB and JiP checked: Same as regular queue now with JiP checked.
JiP only checked: New queue type. Only searches for in progress runs.
Done.
