Edit: Mitski is right I believe, I believe his points are incredibly valid at this point....I think about Djlovedrop(double summoner comps), the jumping and his summoner crew...then I remember what a large part of the community is frustrated with!
There is nothing inherently broken about the PVP system, generally the more coordinated teams and/or more skilled players will win at a much higher win percentage. The so called gear gap can be closed with crafted gear, ilvl 70 pieces are obtained relatively soon after. The learning curve is steep, there is huge rooms for improvement from learning your class and learning to play with your team mates and coordinating. In my opinion, skill differential is much larger then the gear differential in the context of your total average game played in PVP ( you aren't fighting rank 30's all the time, generally average gear level is below ilvl70 pvp gear)
I would suggest (if you do enjoy PVP) to learn the basics and flow of how the game is in level 30-40 ques, and if you really are stressed about gear, to obtain wolf marks there as well for the first 1 or 2 large pieces.
