You've got my support

If they can send us back to old dungeons with 'hard modes' and write in a story explanation for it, surely there could be a story explanation for something possessing the Phantom Train, causing it to change shape to something closer to the one in VI and threatening some part of Eorzea if it isn't stopped.
"Ul'dah can keep their dusty markets, and their streets paved in silver and gold.
Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.
My loyalty lies with Gridania, with the Moogles and the tree spirits of old." -The Forky Conjurer

Couldn't agree more. I think the Phantom Train described in lore right now is more of a reason to add a dungeon like this to the game, not less.If they can send us back to old dungeons with 'hard modes' and write in a story explanation for it, surely there could be a story explanation for something possessing the Phantom Train, causing it to change shape to something closer to the one in VI and threatening some part of Eorzea if it isn't stopped.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.

I really like this idea. When I saw the rail tracks, I thought to myself that something like Phantom Train could be a potential dungeon. Then I saw that Castrum Meridianum used it as a reference and felt shot down. Overall I do think they should look at previous dungeons of Final Fantasy and cleverly bring them into FFXIV. Similar to how FFIX brought Mt.Gulug back from FFI.
I vote yes, so make it so.

Phantom Train in the Phantom forest with that awesome soundtrack to accompany it, Would love to see a forest type dungeon in game with the ominous fog and a classic tune of phantom forest playing all with FF14 graphics, would make me have giddy dreams!

Looks like we'll be seeing the Phantom Train in 4.2 hehe
Hell Yes. i'd love this.
