Are there any new players still needing to complete story based dungeons?

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there were any new players out there (like myself) who are looking for others to join up with to complete some of the story based dungeons in the duty finder?

I've just recently started playing FFXIV (in Adamantoise) and I love it! I'm just having a hard time finding more people who are new to FFXIV and still need to complete some of the story based dungeons.

I would like to say that I have come across a lot of helpful players during my time spent in Eorzea thus far, which has been awesome. It's just that I feel like I'm hindering everyone b/c I'm still learning the game, I'm typing on the ps3 via dualshock which is almost impossible (I'm not sure how everyone else types so fast), and everyone else is quite experienced and have played for quite awhile and I'm just not there yet. So I thought I'd check out the boards.

My apologies for such a long winded post, I just wanted to see if there were others out there.

    Thanks for reading~

    Hey there!

I actually have a new toon that is a few levels away from 15, so I'll be doing the story dungeons soon. His name is Matthias Oschon, so if you want help, I can help you! Also, I used to type on the dualshock, I know your pain. I just eventually got myself a wireless keyboard, so things are a lot smoother now, I suggest you do the same when you can!

In any case, I have another character named Manda Panda who is at a higher level, but I don't mind level syncing to help you out too! c:

Hi there - I was under the impression that it should be a lot easier now to find people for these story dungeons through duty roulette. Those who had previously done the dungeon should be matched with those specifically wanting to do the dungeon. Unless I misunderstand the whole system that is?

Try to use Dailly Roulette, Duty Finder or Party Finder to helps you with matching for the dungeons. For the PS3 - definitelly try to use a keyboards - any USB or bluetooth will do - from PC or MAC.

I have a couple of friends who like you just joined and are having a blast levelling. Don't worry too much about the learning curve, we've all been there.

Most of my FC are actually PS3 users and they all bought a cheap USB keyboard (6 to 15$) because, as you mentioned, typing with the controller is nigh impossible. You'll have a much better experience interacting with other players inside the game if you use one.

That goes a long way towards taking care of the problem of ridiculously long queue times waiting to get a group at all. Unfortunately, it has a side effect of getting a lot of people who just want to run through them quickly.

A new player (or even an experienced one) who wants to actually be able to see the dungeon is totally screwed if they end up stuck with a group racing through it the way the majority of level 50 players want to. Sometimes you'll get a group that's friendly and helpful, but even those groups tend to run through so fast you can't see where you're going. By far the best way to actually see a dungeon is if everyone else in the group is there for the first time.

Thank you to all that have replied to my post. The tip about the wireless keyboard is greatly appreciated, it sounds like it will make my time communicating with everyone else so much easier!

Thank you very much for offering assistance I appreciate it! I'll have to take you up on your offer so thank you again. Also a keyboard sounds like the way to go so I'll have to look into that for sure. Thanks again!
