PvP Suggestion

I'm glad to see the introduction of "The Wolves Den;" however, I still don't feel like this is adequate enough for the PvP aspect of the game. There are many options when doing PvE (FATES, Leves, Dungeons, Quest, etc..), yet there is only one when talking about PvP. Here are a few suggestions I have:

1. Introduce a "duel" option so that players can challenge other players anywhere, anytime.
2. Allow for FCs to enter into FC wars with one another (either world or instanced).
3. Make some sort of Grand Company vs Grand Company pvp arena. Include a weekly ratings chart and which ever Grand Company has the highest rating, a bonus is given to all members of that Grand Company (ex. exp bonus).

I think adding these types of PvP aspect to the game would add a whole new dynamic to the overall game experience. Many people play MMORPGs for the PvP aspect, not just the PvE aspect

I second the "Duel" option.

I also think they should add sort of a pvp lobby room type thing, so we can form parties and duel each other. My friends and I like to joke around and pvping against each other sounds like a lot of fun.

Yeah, I've just always been a fan of factional based PvP. I think there could be a lot of fun if they had an arena where teams from each Grand Company can battle against one another- maybe even do a 3 way death match type thing. It would add an entire new aspect to being in a Grand Company and an entire new aspect to the game in general. Plus, it would give you bragging rights being in the top Grand Company.

This brings to question the endless "X invites you to a duel" you'd get just walking around on the streets. It WILL be spammed where ever, and i can asure you, blacklist wont be able to stop it. I would much rather see this option not implemented, ever. You guys will simply have to face that FFXIV isnt a PVP game like WoW is.

None of the jobs are equal or capable for one-on-one battles amongst each other. And one single piece of better gear facing someone on the exact same job will make that person win by default. There arent any alternative gears available, nor (m)any alternative weapons like in WoW. Nor a lot of moves to help/hinder someone in PvP.

Long story short, until this game gets shot 4-5 years into the future and has even half the gear similar to things you'd find in WoW, there will be no point to Duels between two players.

I disagree. Every game I played that had a duel option, it was not constantly spammed at me- so what makes ff14 any different? You are right about the balanced class; however, the dev team could fix that with special PvP skills to make it more balanced. Just because some people don't like PvP doesn't mean it should be withheld from everyone.... PvP is a prominent part of most MMOs.

it could bring some interesting aspect in PvP especially with airship coming in later patches

Yeah, I definitely like that idea. I always like when there are opposing factions. It seems pointless to join a faction/GC if they're all on the same team.
