There are 6 CT sets, with 6 pieces each.Crystal Tower is a fun raid in which you can earn 200 tomes of phil and 50 myth tomes. This is fine. I propose that CT be changed to limit 1 item per class per week and 450 myth per class per week. I would like to play all classes but at one item per week with 8 classes would take over 80 weeks, or roughly a year and a half. By that time the gear will be useless as there will be new teirs. Please change Crystal Tower immediately. Sure I could have 8 different charecters, and so could my friends. That would be really hard to keep up with though. I have a hard time remembering all the friends I have. To multiply that by 8 would be insane.
Therefore possible to get all CT gear within 36 weeks.
Man .... Pace yourself.
the Myth Cap isn't a Race dude. No Need to cap all 450 in a day. It'll still be available to cap Tuesday, even Sunday...
Need to sprinkle in some PvP, EX Mode Primals and some Coil into that CT grind...

Or work toward your Relic on that WAR of yours .... how are you bored again?
Also your WHM needs THM leveled for Swift Cast. I see a lot of things you could be working on.
And you don't have all DoW/DoM to 50 nor any DoL/DoH Leveled.

Idk, I don't get the point of capping i80 gear. Its all kinda awful, and none of it best in slot. What difference does it make if someone has one class or 7 classes in full i80, its still not i90.
To be frank I don't get the point of ANY gear gates anymore. They made sense at launch, but enough time has passed that you can be full i90 on a class with nothing but myths. The maximum vertical distance (highest geared main class vs highest geared main class) for the most hardcore and the average casual that just caps myth each week is now down to Allagan weapons alone. The initial concern was to prevent hardcores from getting desperately far ahead on their primary classes, but now every play could / should have a single i90 class. What difference does it make if "hardcores" want 1 or 7 i90 classes? As it is I have two i90 classes and 4 i80 classes. Gear gates are just frustrating for players that have more play time.
And, realistically, there will always be another item to get. The Primal Pony, that one ifrit ex wristlet you don't have yet, etc etc. Luminaries, etc. I just don't understand the point of preventing me from playing content.
I've never understood it either.
The gear is untradeable, so it's not going to ruin the economy.
It's not open-world PvP, so you don't have to worry about bored completely maxed out players griefing in lowbie zones.
If a maniac player wants to run Coil/CT 50 times in a week and max everything out... why not let them?
I really don't understand it. It's not like SE collects money every time you log in, so why create gates that force people to log in once a week to hit artifical caps they implemented?
If people are going to get bored and leave, they are going to get bored and leave. Preventing them from rushing through everything before new content is released (by setting up gates) isn't really accomplishing anything.
Most of those people will be right back when the next tier of gear is released. If they had previously cancelled their subscriptions, they will re-up, to become max level once again.
It's SE's world and they can do whatever they want, I don't really understand it though.
(I do understand limiting the dailies and leves, because they impact the gil-flow into the world. Limiting looting on non-tradeable items? I don't really get it.)

Disagree. It would also allow anyone to farm a complete gear sets in a week (if you have a lot of free time). Gear progression isn't supposed to work that way.
Why not? A lucky tank could go into coil and leave with...
Body, Neck; Belt Legs; Hands; Wrists. Just off the 4 really easy turns. Just as many pieces as each CT set has.
And its not at all uncommon for all teh drops for a single class to go to a single player in a static.
That same week spend their myth on a helm to go with the body and boots from ct for the legs and poof. Full i90/i80 right side in a week where you started in darklight.
Note: I have seen this scenario play out for a blm where they got all possible drops in 1-4 in a week.
any time one player gets that lucky, by default it means the other 7 that went with him are hugely unlucky.
Just pointing out that getting a gear set in a week isn't fundamentally opposed to what gear progression is all about.
Besides... we are talking about i80 gear not i90. CT gear is trash / alt gear, not main class progression gear.
You lost credibility at 450 myths.
Why not though?
There is no open world PvP, there is no trading of ilvl 90 stuff (since it's all unique/untradeable).
If someone wants to insanely run Coil and CT over and over and over again... why shouldn't they be able too?
Personally, I wouldn't do this, but, if someone wanted too? Why not? Who are they hurting?
(If, in the future, SE does implement open world PvP and/or tradeable BiS items I will retract my viewpoint on this.)
Right now though... what is SE really trying to prevent, outside of players spending more time in-game playing through content?
I say let the maniacs spend 40-50 hours a week running through the same raid over and over again if they want.
Outside of seeing them running around in their gear, it doesn't impact me in any way.
You can say PvP would become unbalanced... but how? You can only play as one class at the same time. Having 5 classes with all ilvl 90 stuff doesn't give someone an edge over a player who focused on getting one class to ilvl 90.
EDIT: Someone in another thread about the same topic said, "the cap is to prevent hardcore players from having a huge gap over newcomers".
I would argue that the cap has the opposite effect. It basically ensures that newcomers will be "x" amount of pieces/loot behind "hardcores/OG's", until such time that the cap is lifted.
I think that's kind of counterintuitive. Why cripple recent players in that regard and basically tell them, "no matter how many hours you put into the game... you will be unable to surpass someone who started a month before you, because of artificial caps that we placed into the game"?
Meh, I'm not losing any sleep over any of this. It's just puzzling to me.
