Why MMO gamers are the hardest to please...

Everyone says MMOs are games. I don't think they are. Let's compare MMO gamers to the rest of the world.

I've never heard complaints that baseball needs more content.

I've never heard of RMTs on Call of Duty.

Millions of people around the world pay $10 and up for a movie, we complain about $15 a month.

I've never heard of someone going to an all you can eat buffet and complaining there's not enough desert.

Seriously, is it really "just a game"? We live in an age where you pay $60 for a 10-100 hour game. Has anyone here not had at least 10 -100 hours of fun?

Actually, I was going for humorous shot of perspective. I see a lot of complaining on here like FFXIV was South Park's end of the world... of warcraft. I see people writing rage quit posts and all sorts of things that imply FFXIV is more than a game. I'm just wondering why people are so emotional. You paid $60 it came with the first month.. you played a heck of a lot longer than you did, half the games on xone, ps4 and it's predecessors... Why so much complaining. Room for improvement? Always, but less whine more constructive. That's what.

If all humans were like you and accept the status quo for what it is, we'd still be in the caves. Humans evolve because of our complaints and our needs. Video games are no different.

MLB and NFL changes its rules every year. You're probably just not aware of the changes because they do not release patch notes for baseball. Customers complain about food selection at buffets all the time. CoD accounts do get powerleveled all the time, though they're not sold often because they have no value. People do sell XBLive or Steam accounts though.

Try getting some real world experience in these things before you come onto a forum spouting on about topics you clearly have no first-hand experience in.

10 years ago, I would have told you that mmorpgs were a tool rather than a game.

You can do many things with a deck of cards. You can play many different games, you can do magic trick, you can show off how you're so good at shuffling cards in impressive ways, heck you can even try to predict the future lol

I used to consider a mmo, like Amberion said, as an environment.

I'm not too sure about that anymore, in more recent generation mmos.
I believe it's still partially true, but much less so. Not sure if it's an evolution of the mmos themselves, or of the population playing them (probably a bit of both).

Nah meant more that MMO is an enviorment, what ever you tack on to it after that is the game type. Like, MMORPG, MMORTS....

But I like your way of thinking also.
