Everyone hates the elf race?

Long necks also have the advantage of being able to wear most of the necklaces in this game without looking like they're being strangled by them!

(Seriously, a great way to ruin a lot of nice-looking necklaces is to make them hover uncomfortably high under the character's chin, instead of where gravity would actually make them sit. I don't understand it at all.)

The rarest race in this game is a male Elezen with face 4. I've been playing for two years and I've only ever seen one person with it.

I think the older faces are only really there for NPC designs, and the occasional player who wants them. Not just Elezen, but other races as well.

The game script seems to be written with a younger character in mind anyway, so it would probably be a bit odd to play as an older man and still get addressed as "lad" on occasions...

Not trying to be mean but I'm not a fan of my male Duskwight Elezen. I didn't like the face and hair choices and I find their proportions a little odd-looking. However I dislike the other races way more, and that was the main deciding-factor for me. I would've likely been a male Au'ra if their run and jump animations weren't so goofy. The Elezen have great animations and once you cover their bodies in armor the proportions don't stand out much at all. I would prefer male Viera or male Hrothgar more than likely but they're not available yet, so I picked the "lesser evil" of all the "original" races rather than one I actually liked (which is not a very satisfying feeling to have during character creation.)

If you don't mind me agreeing... yeah, your character does look a bit odd (though the profile pictures never help anyone look their best).

The really short hairstyle probably isn't best for Elezen, given that most people don't like the size of their head relative to their body - so fluffier hair makes their head look bigger.

Also are you using black as your eye colour, or is it just not clear from the picture? Turning it up a notch to dark grey/brown might help.

I love my duskwight. So much that I often ponder making him my true main over femroe. Problem is, femroe feels like it's my virtual self while elegent is a character I play. I intend to play both equally; femroe more in the beginning to experience all battle class stories and elezen more before patch updates for harder endgame stuff.

Gotta say, though, that my elf has a lot less glamour headaches than my poor roe. Can't even find the perfect hairstyle for her, because all hairstyles are made for midlander/miqo'te/au ra in mind, and I happen to be a fan of cute hairstyles+glam to which roes have to go an extra mile to pull off. Dx Meanwhile Mr.Fashion can look fabulous even in baggy yellow script DoH gear that would make my roe look like a mountain of cloth.

I feel much the same with my Elezen and fem Roe alts (though my Midlander is my relatively-virtual-self character). I also try to make my Roe "cute" and it's super hard to find things that look nice rather than awkward. Meanwhile my Elezen just makes everything (within reason) look good.

How have you not seen an Elezan or Lalafell before? I see em all the time.

Female Elezen can look quite pretty, I played one all the way up through Heavensward at one point because they fit the storyline for it so well in fact, the small head issue can be rather glaring unless you get gear and pick hairstyles to mask it to an extent

for example picking streamlined gear or dresses and combining it with a voluminous hairstyle like one of the more recent long hair options can make everything look more even

The dragoon helmet that you get in the 1-50 quest chain for example makes Elezen heads look much bigger than they normally do (almost as though dragoon armor was specifically made to make Elezen look their best)

I'm disappointed in the male Elezen, truthfully I think if they had just one genuinely pretty face (you know the one) or even just one similarly pretty to you-know-who male Elezen would be quite popular compared to where they stand now.

everybody hates the elf race? Yet everybody fawns over Aymeric and Haurchefant as for the shoulders, they are a characteristic of the race. Just like Roe males look like golems. That's their race, it's how they look

I honestly never see a elf character before( i haven't seen the lalafell or what ever its called either but i hate those guys). Do people just hate the race?

To be honest can not distinguish any gender on elf, lala/gnomes/hobbits and miqo-te so is like uncanny valley feel situation, and is hard when try to describe situations what's going on in PVP "look at that elf/lala he or she is attacking my char in PVP".

So you have idea the last time went to Hydatos misunderstood one Elezen male for a Roegadyn female, if was not my husband warning me it was elezen male wouldn't notice until today.

For example there was this player with a gnome using bite emote on my character like for one minute and could not understand what it was, a way had to distinguish was it had mustache or not, but then saw another gnome with mustache in long pink skirts gave up.

Its not hate it's uncanny valley feels.

I see plenty of us running around on Brynhildr. I don't think we are hated, but I do hear alot of people complain about the long neck and general proportions of Eles. Male's seem to get away with it more, but it's still a factor I have to consider when glamoring. (Mostly wear things with turtle necks xD) I love my Ele, though and I don't plan on changing anytime soon. (Unless I get knocked off the arena in Titan NM somehow and my guild makes me go lala as punishment >.>)
