For referance, the Crystal Tower area was on the map in 2.0, but it was only opened up in 2.1I never played 1.0, so please forgive my ignorance in this respect: In a lot of the overworld maps there looks like there are pieces of the map that just went unfinished, but you can still see faint outlining of areas that are unexplorable. Almost as if they are underground or something. Are these parts of the map that just haven't been added into ARR yet, or are they pathways that lead underground for future content?
So with future patches and expansions, the world should get much larger.
There's a closed up area in Coerthas with Ixali guarding the gate, I hope it's the entrance to that dungeon because the location is pretty close to the one in this early 2.0 concept art and most of the stuff in the pic matches too.

This makes sense, and is also why I roll my eyes at the people complaining the world is not big enough. All in due time.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Comparing the current Coerthas map with the 1.0 version map, that gate should lead through to Griffin's Crossing (the rather spectacular bridge over the gorge) and the Coerthas Southern Lowlands, which in 1.0 zoned into the North Shroud (it also had a hamlet called Owl's Nest - the place where the dummied out class Shepherd had it's locked Guildhall). So it's likely that gate will likewise lead there when that zone is finally added.
I might be off topic but i had an idea of a dungeon recently.
The entrance would be at the black brush station in central thanalan and the whole dungeon would be in the phantom train and you have to reach the first wagon of the train and defeat the phantom train (maybe make use of our phoenix downs we get in the later quests to do more damage to the train that would be cool). I don't have any idea how they could put it in the story or anything, it was an idea like many that i came up with![]()
At the end of Copperbell Mines in the boss room there's a set of broken doors. Would be nice if there was an underground citadel or some subterranean prison lying beyond we could explore as Copperbell: Citadel/Prison. Maybe the home of the Gigas or at least a stronghold.
Seems like this is happening if the next Live Letter info is to be believed: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...56ecb3b0f22c34
Catch a glimpse of the Ruins of Amdapor*, where players will delve deeper into the mysteries of this lost civilization.
* Dungeon name is subject to change.
