Roegadyn with tails

I was kinda expecting roegadyn to have them when FFXIV was first released, seeing as they seemed to have copied and pasted the races from FFXI for this game, but I was somewhat disappointed when I found that the galka lost an appendage.

I'd like to see them add them (maybe a fuzzy behemoth-like tail for hellsguard, and the galka tail for seawolves), but I'm pretty sure that won't be happening, no matter how much I wish it would.

Does anyone else feel similarly, or are you glad the tails are gone?

I was sad that they 'removed' the galka tail, too. If they were completely new races... I wouldn't have minded it. But, they were all pretty much copy/paste except for a few tribal differences. Even these differences were streamlined in ARR, though. Seekers of the Sun used to have short tails while Keepers of the Moon had long ones in 1.0. Now, you can have long or short -- doesn't matter what tribe you are from. The hair colors you could choose also depended on your tribe in 1.0. If I am not mistaken, the only notable differences (now) is that the Keepers of the Moon have fangs while the Seekers of the Sun do not. Also, you can notice a difference in the pupils... if ever so slight.

I guess I'm just missing things from FFXI, but I'll just have to get over it.

And I have no idea who Zaaku is, I don't check the forums too often, so sorry that this was already mentioned.

I'm glad the tails are gone too. I would never have created a Roegadyn if they were still around.

I miss them too. I was gutted when I saw Roegadyn didn't have them.

Galka sounds like a completely different race to the Roegadyn. I get the feeling that Galka are bear-like and more beastly (never played XI), whereas Roes are basically just large humans. It's only really the male nose and their proportions that set them apart.

They really look like the same thing (or at least the same comparison between mithra and miqo'te)... except Galkas had tails. You could not play female Galka in FFXI, so no one knew what the female version looked like... but here is a picture of the male version...
