I think that since this was fashioned in a sense of RP, it should be taken as such. This is just lore. Think about it, do you honestly believe that this reporter could know anything of real consequence or import which she could share with the public? No. It's just like real life, people report on findings, no matter how small, it's all for the thrill of the story. To assume this reporter would have some sort of "insider Dev info" is absolutely ridiculous. This post was merely to stir the minds of the community (treating us as though we actually lived in Eorzea) not to unveil the mysteries of patch 1.18 or 1.19. You guys need to take a step back and see the big picture.

It's not real, it's a game, and it was written by the same people who make the game. To think that it's anything like real life reporting is far, FAR more ridiculous.

What is this? Where's the meat? It feels like I've walked into a steakhouse and been sitting at the table waiting for my steak for an hour only to be told there's no meat left and given a vegetarian menu. There's a new devlivery of steaks due in a couple of horus? So, I have to wait another 2 hours for my steak? I don't care if this is the best steakhouse in town. I can go to the second best steakhouse in town and get my steak much sooner. I don't want this salad. /rant

What I'm saying is I want substance (steak) and once I have that I can be happy with a little bit of fluff/lore (salad) on the side. Feeding us fluff (salad) without any substance (meat) doesn't make any gamer (carnivore) happy.

It's RP. It's lore. Get a friggin grip. If you were expecting detailed information on a patch in a lore post, you're bloody delirious. This post was intended for those interested in the game world and it's inhabitants. Why are you even playing an RPG? Perhaps you'd be more satisfied with an FPS?

I'm all for lore tidbits like this. They help flesh out the world. Now if only this type of thing was accessible in-game we'd be set.
The more important thing here is that SE actually is being interactive with the community, giving people a reason to use Lodestone.

Yeah, access to things like this in-game would help a great deal. With FFXI I never really bothered with the Vana'diel Tribune etc because I always had to go out of my way to get it. The only reason I catch any of these lore posts is because I'm constantly checking the Lodestone etc for updates on the game's progression. Having a hub or even tying it into the levequest counter somehow would be nice. Maybe make another "task board" type thing, but a bulletin board of lore postings.
