SE Please Ensure The Game Works On PS3 and the PS4 When It Releases

I have just had another unsuccessful run on Garuda Extreme mode because Garuda goes invisible sometimes after the first jump. These types of experiences ruin the enjoyment of the game. Similar invisible problems can be found on Garuda Hard mode and used to be found on big FATEs like Odin. SE please thoroughly test content and make sure it performs well before you release it on consoles. Every console is nearly the same and consoles are very easy to test for problems because there they have almost no variability like PCs have. There should be no reason for problems to persistently appear on consoles. Please make sure future content isn't plagued with performance problems on consoles (and PCs too as much as possible but they have more variability and are harder to test).

The problem you describe is not exclusive to PS3 players, PC players have experienced it, too.


EDIT: it happens to wried connexion, too. Not wireless-exclusive either.

Got this last night after my connection got bricked for 20 seconds or so. Seems to be related to the connection more than anything else. How's your internet? Is the PS3 cabled or wireless?

Good to know this is indeed a PC problem too. My connection with PS3 is wireless. Even so, there are other players that use wireless connection and that should be accounted for during testing. Just informational, my ISP is Comcast and it sometimes has problems but Comcast hasn't caused this and my wireless connection doesn't have problems with my laptop. In fact, the problem with Garuda Extreme disappearing appears to happen more frequently when players continue to spam Garuda right before she jumps. All my experiences point to an implementation problem on SE's part and not a connection problem.

Good to know its not just PS3. I believe its not a connection problem at all, since my issues have only been with certain instances. Why would connections only effect parts of the game, but not others. Like I can still speed run WP with 0 issues, but cannot even log onto Thornmarch without having issues even loading my party members before we start.

I will test hard wiring the PS3 with ethernet cable within the next couple days and will post if the problem is replicated using a cable connection. But some people have to use wireless with PS3 and this is a problem that affects much more people than just me. Also, it has been noted that some PC users are experiencing this problem.

I had to do wireless for the entirety of the phase 3 beta and it was terrible. I could never hope to tank, because I would lag 5-10 minutes into every instance.

I did the first phase of Garuda Extreme mode with a wired PS3 about 5 times and had no issue with Garuda disappearing. Party composition was 2 PLDs, 1 WHM, 1 SCH, 3 BLM, 1 Bard. Black mages really aren't that animated compared to other DPS classes so the animations might have not been stressful enough to break the game.

Nonetheless, enemies becoming invisible has been a problem in this game and it appears (with very, very little testing) that having a wired connection instead of wireless improves the probability the game will display everything correctly.

PS3 player here and I've had this happen to me about 6 times on her it sucks. I have a wired connection and I have a 55 Mbps. I play many different online games and the only one that I have ever ever had trouble with is FFXIV.
