FFXIV by far is not the "worst PvP community on the intraweb"

The bugs, glitches and horrible Q times when in a group is what makes PvP on FF14 bad

When joining any content that is very competitive expect to see the worst come out of people (see all console and PC shooters, etc etc)

so that is def not new

(side note: what is up with everyone being shocked of D-bags on the internet seriously btw I only see these threads on 14 forums)

Only thing I call tell you is get some thick skin and keep trying it (it is sorta fun)

Harassment is a violation of ToS, nothing validates it. What people deserve is a temp/perma ban for harassing other players. You pug, it's a dice roll, you want equally geared players on your team then queue as a group. The more people queue as a group, the more queue pops, but what you have instead is over geared players exploiting a game mechanic in an attempt to farm easy marks and rank. When a players asks to stop bothering them, a line has been drawn you don't go beyond that line and continue to bully and harass. NO ONE deserved to be harassed under any circumstances.

I agree especially in pvp stuff, there are bad behavior, some players who insult fiercely and yet I have not seen any punishment, I hope it will be done

I have been on the giving end of a fair number of rages... lol.

The community is not bad. The problem is that those of us who have been working toward Rank 30 since Day 1 are now playing with people who come into level 50 pvp with ZERO pvp gear. Well, I tell myself, "Maybe they don't know they should be farming in the 40s bracket."

But when I tell someone nicely, "You should really go do 30's and 40's where morale doesn't matter, save up some points, and buy i70 gear before coming into level 50 bracket," and the proceed to tell me how I'm rude and how they are okay with losing, and that they refuse to buy pvp gear and/or go into lower brackets, I do get angry.

I never minded much when people came into PvP with darklight or better, everyone starts somewhere, but when you enter with stone vigil gear and a darklight kple kple and lvl 27 accessories, something generally needs to be said. It doesn't need to be said with intent to cause emotional distress, but you wouldn't just not say something if you joined a BC raid and 1 person is in peltast and AF1 with no jewelry on.

Honestly I find the FF14 pvp community to be fairly nice, I'd say most of us regulars know most of the others and have a mutual respect when we see them either on our team or on the bad guys, there is very little trash talking now that jumping is fixed. That being said since 2.15 I feel PvP is much worse but I'll leave that for another thread :[

Yeah, I agree with you dec. For the most part I don't see the same attitudes i've seen in pvp in other games. I don't really see much of the emote taunting, teabag spamming nonsense pvp is famous for. There are a few doucheclowns (that happen to be r30, go figure) in our cluster but it's not the majority.

What astonishes me the most, really, is that people have that typical "wow arena" elitist mentality in a pvp setting that is mostly broken. Between class imbalances, gear imbalances and the worst sync server I think i've ever seen...it's rarely a testament to skill.

My data center, Chaos, has a pretty good environment overall. Yes, there are a few bots, and more ppl in sub iLvL 55 gear then I care for. But for the most part, a new pvper is welcome to the wolves den. Granted, they may be given a few choice words if the look/ play like trolls. Either way, a match making system would be appreciated, and would be a step forward in generating a positive experience for players of all levels and abilities.
