honestly i hate to be that guy ,but ...if you dont like the lockouts, then leave. i assure you that SE wont ever drop the highest gear lockout. in 2.2 the myth cap may be increased or remove entirely, but that only because the new af2 gear will replace myth gear as the highest tier.
You people and your thought process... Did I ever say fix this or lose my subscription? No. I never said it makes the game unplayable. And as you stated, it is my opinion. So I am entitled to think whatever I want to think if I think it will improve the game. I'm not going to leave anytime soon, but it is annoying knowing that I'm hindered from enjoying the entirety of the game due to a mechanic that prevents me from gear progression. Well, they technically do. And you can basically get 1-.5 pieces of MAX ilvl, BEST IN SLOT (or near it) gear by spamming WP which anyone with a peabrain can do 15 times a week to get full max ilvl gear. The complainers for wanting an even higher cap are the ones who don't know how to do hard content correctly. Stop whining to Mommy that the game is still too hard for you to gear when you already have access to BIS MAX ILVL gear that shouldn't be accessible from casually DF'ing. People solely relying on myth, if they have been playing since release, is kind of pathetic. And why do you want accees to best gear in such a short amount of time? Just so they can quit and move to another game? Suck it up and realize this a mmo that wants your money long term and people want rewards that aren't a joke to get. Myth gear should be severely nerfed; it is the anti-christ for old generation MMOs that are way better than ARRs current state, which is easily shown by the grandeur amount of complaints on this forum about WoW and ffxi comparisons.

This is the problem with a lot of "old generation MMO players". They deem the path of mindlessly grinding for RNG is the superior path for MMO longevity. Guess what, these days people don't have as much time to play games as thye did anymore. That's why all these games are catering more to casuals, the people who only have 3 or 4 hours a day to play the game. This is the exact reason mobile games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga are popular - you take them on the run, they're easy to play and get into, and they don't feel like they require a significant time investment in order to enjoy.
To take from a different game, even the new Pokemon X and Y games are much easier than they were back in the Black/White 2 era. For starters, breeding quality competitive Pokemon have just gotten so much easier. The EXP share function has been tweaked so that your team levels faster. Horde battles have been introduced as a secondary way of EV training - it's pretty much possible to finish EV training a Pokemon within 15 minutes now. Passing down Hidden Abilities and egg moves is that much easier now. Why? Because Gamefreak/Nintendo realize that not many gamers have that much time to spend on one game - they're either busy with their daily life, or they also want to play other games.
Why should Myth gear ever be nerfed? It offers an alternative gearing route to the "midcores/hardcores" as well FYI. As mentioned, casuals don't have as much time to play, however to also give them the satisfaction of gear progression, they are there. Do tell me the last time you did not use Myth gears to patch your own gearset in order to attempt Coil too.
