Playing on sargatanas and never really had problems finding tanks. Finding it pretty even to be honest. I had to wait for dds or healers too.

I can tell you that when people see that on my server they're pretty much like "LOL nope, I'll just wait for my static and do it with them." The tanks in my FC laugh about PF advertisements like that, they have better things to do than tank for pugs when they can get people from their FC instead. If it's anything like it is on our server the reason maybe be something like this
Player Finder
LF ILVL 80+
LF Experience players only. Know the fight.
Must have mumble, 3 forms of ID, and come to Revenant's Toll for full cavity search.
3 derps and you're kicked no hard feelings.
So yeah, doesn't really promote new or inexperience players to join.
This game doesn't feel like it can promote that kind of idea with the whole myth cap and coil lockout. Doing T5 and EX primal as undergear isn't the most pleasant. Sure is do-able, but your healers gonna pull extra weight.
I play on Odin Server and If you ever need a tank for any dungeon drop me a tell - if im free ill be your tank![]()
Want to know what the best part about those groups is? They almost always suck.If it's anything like it is on our server the reason maybe be something like this

Poor things keep on getting abused and being called shit tanks, why would they want to comfortably join anything![]()
Probably because all the good tanks from pre 2.1 have full IL90 now, so they don't need to run anythign aside from turn 5. As such I go to stuff on my DPS like every other tank, and we all need tanks in our groups.
The only time I really tank anything is if it's for my FC, or we are running stuff as a static. I'm sure any geared 85+ tank is in the same boat as me, with a few exceptions. It's not that there are no tanks, it's just that they don't join stuff in party finder.
If they would make alternate loot systems so the Party Leader can set it to greed only, then I would tank Primals. But I don't really need anything from primals asside from off class accessorries. But when I tank EM Primals, there is always a dps on their main class that needs it.
What Reason do I have to tank EM Primals for random Party Finder groups if I don't stand a chance at getting gear on my BLM? I don't need anything on my tank, so I'm done. If I could convince the group to greed the accessories I'd tank, but I can't and they won't so I don't tank.
inb4 someone tells me to level the other tank class "I did, they are both 50 and both have full AF1.5 sets with gear scores of 89 and 86". I run on my dps now because my tanks only need stuff from places I run with my static (e.g. BCB 1-5). And I'm sure I'm not alone here.
Bottom line though is that party finder is nice, but it's not the go to for experienced people. Most anyone with stuff downed and on farm (em primals etc) has a group they run with a lot and the only time they Join in party finder is if they are bored and their static's are all offline (multiple statics). And any geared tank with experience is going to have a static unless you get one in full mytho.

Same situation on Siren, and 2.1 exacerbated it. I was curious why, so I asked around to various players I knew (and some I met randomly thru PF). Apparently the situation is that a lot of tanks are switching to DPS because, "DPS has it easy with the post 2.1 fights, tanks actually have to worry about mechanics now."
So, what it all boils down to, is that a good chunk of the tank population decided to become lazy and abandon the role because DPS continues to have it easy.
I dearly hope this isn't true, but as someone who mains a healer I'm seeing my queue times going up and PF parties being filled with 2-3 healers within minutes of being posted (while waiting 20+ for tanks). It just may be true that many tanks just don't want to tank anymore if they have to deal with "swapping" due to these new mechanics. Does sound a bit lazy of them.
Be warned playing a tank can be tough. Largely because you have to do everything yourself. Nobody likes taking inexperienced tanks through content, so the only way you will get to do some of it is have a dedicated group of friends with a tank spot open, or start and run everything yourself.
I only tanked for my FC or people Iike in-game. Otherwords, I just really don't care much about randoms, and why should I really? I am in the same boat like many other tanks. I only do stuff to gear up my tank. Sure I will tank on my free time for FC members to help gear them up and I will even join the random pf group doing a relic quest. But there isn't much more I can do but run Coil to improve my gear. So yes, I have leveled several alts to pass the time while I wait on timers. Call me a lazy tank, but we are people that want to complete our goals too, and we shouldn't be expected to over tank content that we don't need anymore or have no desire to do. All I can say is become more of a complete player, and level up a tank or another mmo role you do not play. If you don't want to do that then it is on you.
