    About Sound Settings...

i am trying to figure something out here. a couple of things.

in System Configuration>Sound Settings there are 3 area with configurable options.

the second one, "Volume Settings", has 6 sliders. and also near the sliders you can mute each selection without having to slide the bar all the way to zero.

i want to know if when you hit the mute option... does the game still access the files on your HDD/SSD? like if i click mute BGM for example. will the game stop accessing the BGM files all together? or will it just mute the BGM and still attempt to seek out the BGM files on the disk?

also i would like to know if the same thing applies when setting the slider to 0. cause the third part, "Player Effects Volume", does not have a mute toggle.

is this something that can be answered here? or would i probably be better off sending in a ticket to SE about this?

Muting does the same thing as turning the slider down to 0. All it does is turn off the volume, but the sounds are still "running." Easy way to check: Go into an area that has music, turn it off and back on after a couple seconds. The song will be where it would be had you not turned off the volume.

If you wish to increase game performance, BGM and SFX are negligible (by design) in video games in that regard. I don't even think there would a noticable difference if you somehow removed all the audio from the game.
