Solo tank Garuda X

seen videos, and from what i can see, a bard or a strong melee takes chirada. From tanking chirada, only thing that really hurts is the downswipe thing but that gives warning with target, and if you move behind, it does way less damage.

any comments?

Its probably a doable strat since in the JPServers they do a 3 way strat, where MT pull Garuda, OT pulls Suprana and the DPS takes care of Chrirada. I dont see why we cant just replace the OT with another DPS. Although it might get tough if the spiny feather goes to the MT, unless theres a way to pull it off some one with out the use of provoke.

What if the MT gets spiney during tornado phase? is it possible to pull it as dps without killing?

I wonder how just a War not in defiance would compare in that strat then? At least it would have provoke and huge HP.

true true....thats a great suggestion. im gonna try that....although obviously thats less dps than having a 5th dps.

In the videos I have seen, the spiny always seems to go to a healer then the MT takes it at 2 debuffs....

Have done it, not much gain since there is so much time in the fight that garuda is un-attackable. We already clear her in 4'15"-4'40" with 2 tanks. As far as the spiny question, no dps can't pull it off the MT w/o killing her, you just have to live through the super tornado, have everyone topped off prior to it going off.

I was forced to do this yesterday in DF. The OT tank left right before I pulled Garuda and the group went on with the fight. When phase 2 started I started pulling hate from red sister and when garuda moved in moved away from slipstream. At this point i took both to my corner and started to hit CD while dps took care of green. It was sort of painless I just had to move away from slipstream and spam heal on myself to help healers.

Needless to say we didnt wipe on there but later when it was just Garuda, so I think its doable with a good geared tank. I'm ilvl 65 atm with a ilvl55 weapons and shield.

nope... spiney comes with a huge amount of aggro to its target. only way to pull it off is by provoking.
