Again: To let them know "why".
Now, I'm not a business expert by any means. But if I was in charge of a company, understanding why someone wasn't paying would be something I would want to know.
you are right sir. In fact, companies dish out billions every year to hear what their customers are saying. Its called Market Research. These forums are a cost effective way for SE to track and analyze the trends and opinions of its customers.
They are also a cost effective microphone for SE, but have no doubt, these forums primary purpose is to manage customer satisfaction.
SE, like any company, hates it when they feel their service is being complained about. But they would NEVER ask people to not share it with THEM.
Its actually the people that have nothing to add or complain about these threads that need to just ignore them and keep silent if they have nothing to say. If they like the game, trust me, their silence and subscriptions are making the statement.
Keep posting the why I quit threads.
But these I quit threads will still be beneficial as they kinda provide some feedback for the devas.
Giving actual suggestions within the scope of their design would help more than just making an I quit thread.
There are long-standing issues like latency that haven't been fully fixed, so I understand the frustration.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
"I'm quitting the game, but have come to stand on a soap box to let you all know i'm quitting, instead of just going off and doing something else more valuable with my time."
^ I love these posts.
Try a different ISP, must likely it...I play far away from Servers, Honduras, CA, im usually at 80-120ms..no lag in anything.
First of all I'm playing from central europe so I'm not really close to the sever in canada. At the start of 2.0 I had pretty severe connection issues (other players rubberbanding, getting hit by AoE even though I was already somewhere else) so the usual stuff people with connection problems are experiencing. A friend of mine living in a different city but close by didn't have those issues so I did a tracert to check where the bottleneck was and contacted my internet provider with my findings.
One or two days later the bottleneck was gone and I haven't experienced any connection problems since then except the occasional lagspike but those can happen even if you'd be sitting right next to the server.
I'm well aware that my experience is not applicable to everyone. But if you are experiencing routing problems try contacting your internet provider and if they can't help try tools like wtfast or pingzapper. I know it's not ideal to pay for another tool so you can play a game with a monthly subscription fee but SE can't control which route your internet takes from your pc to their data center. The only thing you can fault SE for is not offering more server locations around the world.
Sadly this is the only way to "fix" the issue cause we all know that SE won't fix the issue by moving the EU server to.... EU.
Create a bard cause they are the only class that lets you move around without forcing you to stand still.
what ever you do NEVER stand still, even for a 0.00001 sec or you are dead.
