    The game is not working.

Whenever I click on play, I get a "A fatal directX error has occurred. (10000000)" message.

Can someone help? I tried everything and I checked what version I had and everything, and it says DirectX 11 on dxdiag.
I tried turning it to DirectX 9.0 but it's not letting me do it. Plus, it cannot be uninstalled...

I mean, it happened just in time, a free subscription weekend. Now I'm just wasting my time figuring out stuff...

either something is missing in Windows for the DX9 emulation to work properly, or something may be going on with your drivers. The DX9 issue has a fairly easy fix: re-install DX9. Not your current DX11, but the legacy DX9 redistributable. It's a glitch that goes back to Vista where some DLL's are missing, and the off-line redistributable installer fixes it.

If that doesn't resolve the DX crash, post your system specs and perhaps someone else has the same sound and/or video cards and can suggest driver versions to try.

Well I tried this one already but after downloading I have no clue what to do. There's just a bunch of files with a year in its name, and something that lets me download DirectX (not sure of the version). After that it's like nothing happened.

    Here are my specs:

Since you are running Vista, this may actually be the DX9c missing DLL issue. Been a long time since I messed with that download... so a bit foggy on the details. If I remember right, it's a self-extracting compressed file. Sounds like you just unpacked it and now you need to run what it unpacked so it can install and register the files.

Also.. do you have a graphics card installed (ATI or nVidia), or is it still running the Intel Graphics? Don't think the older Intel Graphics work with XIV.

well i followed a guide on how to downgrade to DirectX 9.0c, it showed me the same link you gave me. Everything worked (i think) but when i launch XIV,

i keep getting the same error message.

EDIT: well, the story is, my laptop is on repair for an undetermined period of time (it's been 2 weeks yet) and XIV worked fine with an Inter Core i5. Now I'm trying this pc we use my family and I. I'm deeply sorry I have no knowledge with computers hahaha... ha... okay it's quite sad
