'Mog Bonanza'-style rewards worth a total reset?

So...we have some players in favor (13 likes as of this post) and some strongly opposed...

Unfortunately, a large percentage of the responses consisted of this.

I figured this proposal would set off a bit of butthurt with some players, but my intention was to see if the general forum consensus would find a reset along with a reward system agreeable in any way.

I am obviously in favor of it if it means this game can be fixed without being shackled in any way to the old system. But I also understand that I may be in the minority on this.

Obviously SE would conduct a real poll on the matter before they even considered it, and as far as we know they aren't even close to considering it. So those of you who are seriously bent out of shape over the idea can rest easy.

Actual reasoning: Even if they took a flame thrower and pick axe to the effort we have put in up to this point. It would solve nothing in the long term. We would be right back in the same exact place a couple months down the road. and to further up this on the Bad idea-O-meeter. You suggest handing out an item that gives enough sp to take a class to 50? Did you think that through at all?

No really think about it, you are proposing that every thing get set back to square zero to even out the Economy and put every thing back on the level, with every one getting a free r50 card? Exactly how many people do you think would be foolish enough to not dump ever bit of that sp into a doh?

Yoshida-san already said that there wouldn't ever be a reset, so I don't expect to ever see one.
It wouldn't do any good to go back on his word. I would be curious to see the results if they did a poll asking if we'd accept a reset though.
I actually wouldn't mind losing everything and starting over when the game is in a better, more enjoyable state.
I don't care too much about resetting levels - it wouldn't benefit anyone, but I think it would do the game some good to get rid of all the gil in the game and start over fresh with leves and things fixed to not pay out massive amounts, and having some real gil sinks in the game.
