    I make plenty of money, and I do it by not caring about the market or you, I care about myself, if I undercut by just a bit, it takes longer to sell, I have to watch it more, and it takes up retainer spots the entire time it hasn't sold, so I post it, if people start undercutting me, I will drop the price to pretty much the lowest I feel comfortable selling it at, this way I get fast money, and it opens up space to make more fast money, and if I get to piss people off in the process then that is just a bonus, your anger merely feeds the emptiness where my conscience used to live.

    The lack of understanding about (Mostly*) Free Market Economics in this thread is saddening but understandable.

    Currently it is a Buyer's Market for most player crafted goods due to how much supply outstrips demand. In Buyer's Markets, suppliers are forced to compete for buyers; this competition drives prices down. The "Undercutting" posters are complaining about is completely natural and is to be expected.

    *The current market is mostly free because only NQ materials sold at merchants have set prices. You can not effectively sell NQ Iron Ingots nor Silver Battle Forks more than they cost to purchase from the merchants who sell them.

    Then you will just undercut by 1g and it continues? Because I gather my own mats so in the end it is still profit to me?

    I think many players don't like to manage a lot of item, they just want to sell their stuff fast.
    And for those rich ppl buying HQ to reach lv50 in one day, when they want to achieve 3000 crafts in the next day... ^^;

    Are we playing in a MMO, or single-person game?

    why undercut by 1k++?
    U tired of those punks who camp 24/7 AH or MB or whatever its called in other MMOs and undercuts u by 1 copper / 1 isk / 1 whatever MMOs currency? Good, cuz DEEP UNDERCUTTING is the only way those punks won't bother to waste their precious time to PVP ur market offer!

    Undercutting happens naturally. There's huge supplies and highly variable demand from day to day. The problem arises when someone decides to come in, dump a weeks' worth of supply down at discount prices, creating an artificial ceiling that hurts everyone.

    I'll undercut by 10-15% for fast sales, or even 1-10K as long as I get a fair profit for the trouble and bait other vendors to buy me out and mark me up. If there isn't a clear margin for profit, I won't go in on the market for that item.

    Sitting on a price may work in the long run, and some markets that's particularly viable. For items in low-demand, high profit fields (such as two-stars), you simply can't price-and-ride. If you're only looking at 1-4 units sold per day, you need to be in the top 4 and hope your competition doesn't turn around and simply put up another unit above yours when theirs sells. The best solution is to gravely 'price cut' and bait a buyout or someone to come along for a discount sale.

    Attitude is half the game. If you can't get over yourself, you're not at the top.

    ^ THIS!

    Selling an item that goes for 18k on the MB, on occasions (right before USA peaktimes) I will list said item for 15-17k(dependent on competition)

    Items that have been on my retainer for 2+days = 25%-50% drop in price because I want it gone~
    I don't care if someone snaps it up and reposts at double the price~ they've just re-inflated that item's value and I can post another at a similar price without worrying about devaluing the markets I'm competing in~

    Cause this isn't a career despite what some think. It's a game. I pay like everyone else. Just because they play 90 hours a week don't mean they can get over on me. Like someone else said, I'll crash the fuckin market. They wanna play games we can play lol. I'll dropp the whole board with three stacks, come back and redrop it, fuck anyone below me. They under cut again I buy them out. I figure anyone on the market is trying to **** someone over, I just give what I get.
