The LS I'm in carries 3-4 people through Titan HM at all times, for free. To combat the douchebaggery of selling content for gil in this game. But that's another story.
I am on Goblin server also, and there isn't a 'population' problem. However there is a very large 'elitist' problem. I truly despise being told that I need to watch a video to be allowed into groups for content I'm doing for the first time. Where is the challenge of being told/shown what to do? But a lot of PF groups in server demand it and blatantly say they will vote kick anyone who causes the party to wipe on the first try. I can understand if 6/8 people know a fight and don't want to waste time having someone else learn it, but it gets to the point of "what do you do?". I caved and watched videos of the HM fights in order to help learn the processes. I hated every second of it. I want to figure these things out for myself, but the community doesn't accept bringing along people for them to enjoy themselves through learning. They want their shinies right now. They have every right to do so, however it effectively gates content for players who don't do so or makes them rely on the DF to win fights that PUG's just don't seem capable of doing.
He's probably right with T5 being cleared by 32 different players in Goblin as well. The bigger question, which sheds light on the state of the social aspect of our server, is how many of those FC's are still around? Some of these FC's act like dictatorships, and it's utterly ridiculous. One of my good RL friends from my FC found a static coil group in another FC. (our FC is small, but good players that can't all necessarily log at the same time of day) This FC didn't have a good summoner, and my friend is a good summoner so he became part of their static. Joined their Mumble room and everything. He got upgraded to their "all-star" group because of how good a player he was (or maybe how bad their FC players are idk for sure). The leader of their FC became jealous that an 'outsider' was granted privilege to run turn 4 and help win it before anyone else in the FC won it. My friend was kicked out of the Mumble room and the entire FC disbanded because of this one event. No lie.
I wasn't aware that being part of an FC restricted your actions to only involve fellow FC members. Sorry, but that's big time BS. And unless you want to become member #381 of Reliquary, there isn't much option in our server. There are plenty of good players and even more so, good people in our server. Many of them are being held hostage by bad FC's whom they show loyalty too. Reliq is a good FC and are normally helpful players, but an FC of that size just makes me feel like a pawn that will never really be able to contribute much.
Keltset, my FC is small. You won't be able to farm Primal EX's with us just yet, hell you won't even be able to farm Coil with us just yet. We are finally making our foray into Coil (as a full FC) today, with many first-timers that will be involved. With all of us, this is OK. We are intent on learning the game we want to play it, without being forced to 'watch videos' or 'stick to one godpro-only strat'. We will experiment, we will learn, we will wipe, but most of all we will have fun. Most of us are great people to talk to, have jobs and families. I started the FC with some real life friends and we grew in numbers, and the people that stuck around feel like they are my real life friends too. If this type of FC isn't what your looking for, the friends I have made in Titan Heartbreakers LS are good people too. They carry people through Titan HM for free just so post-relic content isn't gated to people that don't have 400k gil to pay <DARK> for a win. Alot of those guys are in <Toast> FC. Mine is <RAWR!>.
TL;DR There are good FC's out there man. Would hate to see you quit because of the social aspect of the game, but if you are becoming bored then maybe it's for the best that you take a break. Hope you decide to return!!
