I like the point someone else brought up about using the Minstrel's Ballad mechanic used to repeat the fight with Ultima Weapon as a means of repeating the battle against Nael Van Darnus. The original fight would still be 1.0 exclusive, but the new fight would be purposely more difficult with new mechanics, exactly like Ultima Weapon. And in the plot of the game, all that would happen is that the Minstrel would be telling the story of the battle, and your character would either remember it if they were legacy, or they would understand what happened if they weren't.
Then again, for anyone whose watched the final cutscenes for Coil... well... I won't spoil anything, but I'm thinking Coil Turns 6-10 are gonna render this whole argument moot.

So long the party still need to farm some mats in the instance first, to craft after the wipe a medicine which is needed to survive Naels special attack ^^I like the point someone else brought up about using the Minstrel's Ballad mechanic used to repeat the fight with Ultima Weapon as a means of repeating the battle against Nael Van Darnus. Ooooh i would love this fight!!!!
For those wondering how the minstrel would work this out since many players never did this its very simple. The fight is legendary. It's been 5 years and people would still remember how the mystical warriors of light brought down the most vicious psychopath to ever walk Hydaleyn in an attempt to save eorzea from the blood red falling moon.
"Here Adventurer, let me tell you a tale of a battle and betrayal so great that it rocked the very souls of both the Empire and Eorzea. It is a tale that will surely inspire you to preform even greater feats in the name of the land you fight for."
See problem solved.

I never got to do Rivenroad because my PC stopped working right before the final epic battle of 1.0. I have been sad ever since because Nael van Darnus is one of the most interesting FF villains we've had since Kefka. The only one coming close was Gabranth with his complex past constantly in an internal struggle between justice and revenge.
Being able to finally take on this boss would be fantastic, regardless of the rewards.

even though you're probably an anti-FFVII from ur post, can't deny that Sephiroth was indeed very interesting as well and I somehow thought that Caius Ballad from FF13-2 was kinda coolI never got to do Rivenroad because my PC stopped working right before the final epic battle of 1.0. No, not by imperials, by the Yellowjackets. At that time, the minstrel was imprisoned by imperials I think (cmiiw).

lol
Thx for correcting that. It's been a long time ago.![]()

I'm game for the addition of this fight!
As people said, the Minstrel or the Echo could be great ways of implementing this fight.
Besides, if they can work Lightning into this game they can work this fight into it too. >_>
