Please block vote kick for several minutes on dc'd players

Every group I'm in when people DC they don't wait, they vote kick them out instantly. I already found it annoying when they were trying to do it to others but now I just got dc'd halfway through praet myself and sure enough, I log in 3~ mins afterwards to find myself already kicked out.

They had a message saying please wait a little bit before kicking dc'd players but no one is going to listen to that, they need an actual mechanic in place for that to actually happen. After all, why wait when they can replace them instantly?

Or both tank. I know DPS queues suck, but can't be helped.

What if both tank's D/C, then you get one tank in after seven minutes, then he d/c. unlikely, yes. But now you have A huge chunk of your time wasted because of D/C.

a few minutes shouldn't be a big deal, it can be helped, don't kick instantly. You might end up waiting a little for them to come back like before, no big deal. If they don't seem to be coming back, we can kick them now unlike before. People are WAY too impatient, and they insta kick tanks and healers too, I was MTing that prae run and got booted in under 3 mins.

Considering the message they posted about waiting 5 minutes, they obviously didn't intend this, but a message won't cut it. They will have to code it in for it to actually happen which might be hard but I hope they do. I am tired of people trying to kick anyone as soon as they dc. If its this annoying when I get it being a tank with instant queues (of course I was also near the end of the dungeon...gee thanks guys) I cant imagine how bad it is for the dps out there who occasionally dc.

Hey I wrote a few threads about this and I found out the hard way its not players that are doing the kicking its the game itself. You have less than 3 mins to log back in or the game boots you and then you get replaced.

I know the game gives you limited time, but I was in before that limit hit. The fact that every time a player dc's and I get the vote kick message 10 seconds later its pretty obvious whats going on.

IDK must be far and few between on this subject. Because I've been to quite a few runs where people DC and no one Votes them out. Guess it depends on the content and how unwilling people are to wait. Also I asked for them to implement a system so DC'd players couldn't be kicked for like 5 mins didn't get a response.

While the system kicks you after a short time, I got kicked a lot of times because of random 90k followed by the fancy 3102 that prevents me from relogging quickly.
Not sure if this is an abuse of the vote-kick system as you're neither afk nor anything else. Impatience shouldn't be a valid reason to kick and should be punishable for abusing the vote-kick without a real reason (imo)

Blame the people not the system. On the flip side a little while ago I was doing Prae in my duty roulette. It was one of the dullest runs I'd had as it was a full Relic/+1 party that clearly were very disinterested (when I said hello at the beginning not one of them responded.) they just wanted this over quick as possible. So when I was disconnected just before first Ultima fight, I was devastated that I had wasted my time, as I was certain I would be kicked. It took me quite a while to finally get back on, but when I did I shockingly found myself still inside Prae! They carried on without me, but didn't kick me. I thanked them all for not vote kicking me, still no one responded though. They didn't do it for thanks, they did it because it was right.

Alternatively, we could add a QoL improvement that doesn't affect the good people at all and hampers the ability of the bad people to abuse the system

Yeah but it comes down to the circumstances. What if the party was running out of time to finish the instance but they can't get a replacement because of your new rule? Now three players (four when the dc'd one returns to fail also) have suffered instead of one.

The system is far from perfect, but the people who are vote kicking ten seconds after someone has disconnected are a bigger problem.
