I've seen Titan HM complaints for such a long time now. It's something I hear from almost everyone that has been trying it. I have seen a lot of people rage quit the game, and seen very calm people be brought to all caps in frustration during the attempts at this fight. I beat it one time so far, and almost died of happy, but I will not try the fight again most likely. I don't find it fun. It's great once it's beaten.... but it burnt me out on FFXIV for a pretty long time. I believe there comes a time when something can be too complicated or difficult to be fun anymore, and some fights in this game are just not fun for me. (This is just my opinion.)
I don't want to have to spend hours studying a video, spoiling all the content, or end up cast out because I have slightly worse internet or 30ms more than the average person. I really like ffxiv. I just don't like when they think making it a perfectionists light show dance battle is fun. I have seen statics, and FCs give up and split up constantly because a group of friends often find themselves unable to complete it no matter how many times they try.
If they ever change the fight I may try again. Right now my only solution is to avoid it. I have already done everything I can to make it better. Port forwarding, tried WTFast, different routers, new modem, and even changing my ISP didn't fix anything with that fight. It is completely impossible to avoid the plumes for my husband and I. It doesn't matter if I am across the entire platform from that plume, it will hit me no matter where I stand. It is very frustrating to always feel as if I play crippled. They are just too big and too fast. I haven't had problems with T4 or anything else in the game like I have with Titan HM. It's just not fun to me to keep eating invisible plume and getting yelled at for something I can't help. So I just will avoid content that is Titan HM or anything similar to it.
I hope to continue seeing these threads endlessly... in hopes SE will not repeat the same frustrating experience with something else in the future that I would have otherwise enjoyed.
To those still trying, I wish you the best of luck. You will eventually stop coughing dirt and tasting rocks after battle. T_T
A cookie to each of you for all your Titan pains. <3
