I'm not asking them to make the encounter easier per say. I'm ok if we have to incur an even greater penalty if we stand in plumes for example.
But give people more control by maybe extending the time it takes for a plume to explode by 1 second.
Things of that sort.

So are you asking for the fight to be easier or not? I'm a bit confused because making the plumes do more damage but slower would still make things a lot easier.
