However, I believe this point was misconstrued by many. No one gear set is BiS. To get BiS, you need a mix of Allagan, Myth, and XM gear. I think eventually a few crafting pieces will end up as BiS.

if they stick to that BS vertical progression ideal, gear from crafting will always be 3rd rate
