328MB again?

Unless SE is preloading some of the changes in 1.18 to reduce the update times in July, it would seem that this could be the whole problem with download times of these patches.
In other words, no matter how little a patch is, it always generates a 328mb chunk so the rest is just filler.
Considering this game is already just under 10GB this is getting quite silly.

9.44 GB (10,138,371,305 bytes)

After today's patch
9.44 GB (10,138,376,248 bytes)

So we have 4,943 bytes worth of update.
328MB for 5k of content, nice job SE

Someone already posted way back that the patcher downloads previous updates along with current updates. That 328 MB or whatever it is you see is EVERYTHING that has been added to the game since I think February, and the patcher just keeps re-downloading it.

The patch size is no doubt the result of failed infrastructure on the part of SE. That is the only way 5 simple bug fixes can equal 328 MB.

That's a serious design flaw for an updater that's trying to leverage the power of torrents.

It's redownloading every patch since Yoshi took over... Probably because they've changed things back and forth multiple times and don't want newer players to have to redownload everything.

That makes no sense, if the client says its up to date then it should only be downloading whats new.

Man the devs at SE really don't have a clue.

meh doesn't make sense, should still be separate downloads instead of full patch for 1.17 (a-c)... stuff like this makes me wonder WTH are they doing.

... well i thought it would improve but i really think SE needs help from "outside", no matter where... anywhere seems better then what they are doin atm. Let them have the ideas but leave the technical stuff to people who take 20% of the time and do 200% better job... or ... get this crap goin asap... its unbelievable!
