The only real problem with the UI right now is its speed. It's much better than it was at launch, but it still requires WAAAYYYY too much server coordination.

I hope they never take away jkliop and such for camera because i like it more than using my mouse, i'm not at a desk my desktop is in kinda jank place so those keyboard controls are better for me. I played xi completely on keyboard and I don't see the merit is using a mouse.
I'd much rather they make all the bindings much more open to changing. That way you can have what you want and I can have what I want, and we can all be happy.I hope they never take away jkliop and such for camera because i like it more than using my mouse, i'm not at a desk my desktop is in kinda jank place so those keyboard controls are better for me. I'd be all for having ffxi controls and menu instated in ffxiv. From the macro system to the keyboard layout everything was so much more comfortable to me. I recognize that everyone comes from a slightly different gaming background and everyone has their own preference but the current system feels to me like an awkward mix of several things rather than a solidly designed UI. So they either need to decide fully if they want to be keyboard and mouse layout or keyboard/controller layout.
Currently we have WASD to move, IJKL to use the camera, and on the numpad 8426 to move as well. A simple solution would be to customise these three sets to have one as move, one for camera, and then the third to have LEFT + RIGHT Scroll through the list of targets (PCs and NPCs) and UP + DOWN to scroll through party members and menus. Also, the arrow keys could be set too.
What do you guys think?
