It doesn't have to. They could use shift, for instance. Or, they could even leave it as it is, so you have to push up/down to move to other rows, but at least you can see all the cooldowns at once. You are aware that having 2 or 3 hotbars usually means using ctrl/alt+1/2/3/4/5/etc in order to use the skills of said hotbars...BUT ctrl/alt are tied to MACROS.
The old menu allowed us to easily see a timer for skills/magic, access weapon skills with ease AND allowed us to easily use macros without taking away the original menu (which ff14 does, as long as you hold a macro key your original hotbar disappears and gets replaced by the macro hotbar.)
Yes to bringing ff11 menu system, again.

Because we NEED more keys to push XD
wasd ro move, jkli for camera, 1 to 9 for skills...more stuff to get into passive mode/aggresive mode... menu.. ctrl and alt for macros...ow we would need an extra key for arrow keys? XD
Funny, I never had problems in other games using WASD to move, 1-9 for abilities, and shift, ctrl, alt, or a combination of the three to use other abilities. Honestly, though, I wish they'd just let us map our keyboard properly.

Thats because you could properly move the camera and move with the mouse too.
here you would need an extra hand for camera control (jkil) and options selection with the arrow keys.

Currently we have WASD to move, IJKL to use the camera, and on the numpad 8426 to move as well. A simple solution would be to customise these three sets to have one as move, one for camera, and then the third to have LEFT + RIGHT Scroll through the list of targets (PCs and NPCs) and UP + DOWN to scroll through party members and menus. Also, the arrow keys could be set too.
What do you guys think?
