To be honest, it is worth it to come back for the weekend.

Latency or not, you can still see the new dungeons and raid content in the weekend, then go back to not playing. Why not see everything that 2.1 brought? It's doable in a weekend, so go ahead and do it!

For Extremes and Ultima maybe, there's an item level gate so you won't even be able to get in if you don't meet the minimum level but it's really forgiving.
